Official PTCGO Bug Thread (Updated 3/7)

Anyone else having trouble with the friend battles?

Whenever someone sends me a challenge, I get no prompt or notification until after the challenge is canceled.

Same thing happens when I send friends challenges.
 
Friend battles are bugged for me and a few of my friends as well.
I also still can't see my deck, trade offers, my discard, etc. Been that way since this game launched.

Pls liepard's supporter theft does not work properly. Used it on skyla, couldn't select any trainers in my deck, then it started my opponents turn
 
Today I had this issue:
Zapdos EX used agility and flipped heads. I played Hypnotoxin Beam and it was completely unaffected.
 
Not a bug, but something that really, really bugs(lol) me...
The End Turn button.
I wish they moved it to another place, in the last 24 hours I've lost 2 games because of my laptop double clicking in OK then in that button, ending my turn accidentally.

I don't know if this just happens to me.

Found several Garbodor glithces today:

1) Playing against a Gothitelle deck running Darkrai (with dark energy on the field, which has been a problem causing the Lugia EX glitch) and Accelgor and Mew on the opponent's bench. I had a Trubish with a Rescue Scarf on it (put on early in the game). I evolved my Trubish to the Ability Garbedor, which should shut off Magic Room, but it didn't. Still couldn't play my trainers.

2) Later that same game, I knocked out the Gothitelle, and something else was active (?Accelgor), but I still couldn't play trainers, even though Gothitelle wasn't active.

3) A different game against Darkrai/Snorlax/Loudred, I had a free retreat Emolga active and the opponent had Snorlax active (it's ability prevents retreat). I put a Rescue Scarf on my Ability Garbedor, which should break Snorlax's ability, but it didn't. Still couldn't reatreat Emolga. Again, Darkrai on the field with dark energy on the active Snorlax (as well as double colorless and dark energy on the benched Darkrai).

I think it may be the Darkrai dark energy that is doing this. Other games Garbodor's ability works fine.
 
Every so often after a Pokemon has been KO'd by poison, and was put to sleep by hypnotoxic laser, they still have to flip for sleep after the Pokemon has been knocked out. Has no effect on the new Pokemon, but is just weird.

A Mod added a word which contained a space between each letter as a variant to an existing word in the game's profanity filter. Unfortunately, the Mod did not replace the space with a hypen, so the game thought that each letter of that word was supposed to be filtered. Normally, this would have only affected a handful of single letter words (like I or a). However, the setting for the original word filters any word in which the original word appears. The result was that every word which contained at least one of the letters in the new variant entry was considered a variant of the original word and was filtered accordingly.

We identified the problem variant and updated it appropriately. Chat should be back normal now.
 
2 Bugs.

1. Celebi EX was KO'd while on the bench with a Triple Laser. Its ability was still usable after its death for the entire game.

2. Cobalion EX attacked an active Scolipede (Poison Point) with Steel Bullet and was not poisoned. I can only assume this is due to the coding on Steel Bullet "bypassing" abilities.

Even with this fix, there are still a lot of words not allowed to be used. A lot of words for in game sake words, things needed. I think a looser word ban is needed, obviously curse words or derogatory words should be banned. But a word the seems like another bad word but really is not should be allowed.

Maybe it's also better to not filter private chat, because i chat in dutch on private chat with friends and family and almost every sentence is cencored.

And what's up with private chat that i can't see if my sentence is cencored myself.
The other person than has to tell me that the sentence was cencored.

And isn't it better to cencor words and not whole sentences?
 
I guess I just needed to adjust the screen size (IE screen resolution).
Cause I played the game at the Library & it worked like a charm.

Just curious, if you delete the starter decks on the "deck selection" part, does it make them go away in the trainer challenge as well?
 
Don't know if this has been noted:
Terrakion's Retaliate triggered when active Pokemon was knocked out by Poison. No other Pokemon were knocked out by the attack.
 
Is anyone else not able to log in after they update? I open it and it does the refresher thing and then I click play, and it goes back to the refresher thing. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling.
 
Uninstall -> CCleaner -> Reinstall.

That's about the only way to get it working after it stops working.
 
Conkledurr NV #64's Ability has some weird interactions with Rescue Scarf, and perhaps other pokemon. The Conkledurr had 2 fighting on it, and therefor had a maximum HP of 180. I had attacked it 2 times with Disconnect, and then used RayquazaEX to Dragon Burst it for 120 and finish it off. When it was KO'd, I received not one, not two, not three, but FOUR prizes. The Conkledurr was Scarf'd so it was returned to my Opponents hand. When that Conkledurr came into play again, it had a starting HP of 160, without any fighting energy attached to it.

I deleted all the PTCGO files and it worked.

Dunno if this has happened to anyone else; Oppenent put Giant Cape on Zapdos and then an energy on Zapdos. I used Tool Scraper and went to click Zapdos and discard the Giant Cape and all it showed was the energy and it wouldn't let me click out just click OK.
 
Is it just me, or is the "randomization" of the decks weird?

Was playing my Team Plasma deck, and I had just added a 1-1-1 line of Magnezone.
Somehow on the very first game I played with the new version all 3 of those cards were in my opening hand.
I played another game right after that and 2 of them were in the opening hand...

Plus I was doing the deck unlock thing for Plasma Blade theme deck.
It just kept giving me Pokemon after Pokemon, with no energy in sight.

They said something about updating the trainer challenge.
I noticed there was a "City Tournament" league now.
I tried playing some of those decks, and boy they were tough.
Of course they are still very old decks with mostly HeartGold stuff.
Though a few still have Diamond/Platinum cards as well.
