kungfufita Gardevoir and Gallade won. I have never in my life seen so many G&G decks in one spot. Uggh it was actually ugly.

Warning to G&G players Find a new deck for Regionals. Their are many choices to bring down (ha ha get the pun) G&G, as their are so many decks playing G&G now like 95% or more it will pay to build a focused deck for one purpose.
Going into yesterdays tourney I thought that we would have had some inspiration in the crowd.
Hats off to John R & Kristi B, Kant S. Greg C and their was 3 other people but I don't know their names that did not play G&G out of like 40 people
Myself I came 16th had an awesome day and played a rogue deck.

you know there were more players that did not play GG like for example me and all my friends which totals more to 6 extra players that you're discredited for and all of us were top 16 as well

By stating G&G won you didn't realize the metaphorical statement I made!
I believe it's your friends that I'm talking about here that did not play G&G. At one point I was playing against one, Both people to the right of me were playing GG, Both people to the left of me were playing GG, even Juniors had 3 or 4 GG decks, Yeah - Juniors are playing it now.
I'm not trying to discredit anyone in my statement and IF you take it that way then so be it.
My entire point here was and is- That there were a ton of GG decks, So many in fact that I felt that it was pathetic. The thought that ratings are so important or the opportunity to win provincials was so important that players give up the fun, originality and thought process to building their own deck is not good. At a time when their are so many viable decks people are being tricked into thinking GG or I don't stand a chance. Why are they playing? Winning a tourney with a deck played by +50% of competitors picked up because you have the internet is a hollow victory.
Right or wrong those are my thoughts and I stand by them.

Charles from our league won Juniors, Jacob from our league won Seniors, and Zach from our league won ..... ummm ..... nothing! J/K Zach! Actually Greg Cresswell won in Masters with a pretty decent deck. I was really impressed how well he played it. I know the guy has skills, and he's been to World's a few times, but even so, he certainly earned my respect with that deck, and how he played it. There's more to report, but would be taking the topic way out in left field, so I'll just keep that to myself. In any case, I still feel that it was a good event to "semi-retire" with. Good luck with future events, guys.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Actually I better edit that. Brendan A. won Juniors, Charles from our league won second place. Jacob from our league won Seniors with Winston from our league winning second. Sorry about the gaff there. Memory failing! Good time to retire!

I'm VERY impressed with his performance, the deck he played had NO GE cards what so ever and so he almost handicapped himself. This time it was the player not the deck. He had no knowledge of what the new cards did so he deserves that spot as champion of Ontario. He played a deck with only the cards he had and went in not caring about the metagame. he adapted and won with a bang.

Congrats to Greg

Listen guys, edit your posts! Protect the identity of younger players please! Last initial - no full names.

Geneses, do you really want to take that bet? (But, in a non-betting way but, you can bug me about it:lol:)?? I told I made a new deck:)

No, it doesn't have anything to G&G but, counters... EVERYTHING. I am surprized I have never thought of this deck before:)
