Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

OREGON State Championship - March 21, 2009

Yea, what would this game be without BDS?

It must have something to do with Nationals. Maybe some big group deal to get there or some special prize
for those at regionals to get someting to help them get to Nats. Who knows what exactly, but I bet it has something
to do with Nats.

More Importantly,

Since Chris and I are partners in this great Pokemon journey, I am one of the few people who actually knows what the announcement is.

AH MAN! Come on! I am even running Premier Events now! How long till I get to be a partner?
I could show better enthusiasm for the secret to my players down here if I was told what it was! And
besides, I'm a real good secret keeper! (I guess it makes sense since I will actually be
playing in the tournament instead of helping run it, but I stand by my fussing all the same.)

^BDS...? I thought this announcement was for States...not regionals...? @_@

OK, let me clarify, Chris will make his announcement at States. The announcement will be about something at Regionals. When in doubt, just attend EVERYTHING and you won't be left out!

btw - The official retirement age for a Pokemon PTO is 102, so you'll have BDS to kick around for a few more years.

i call a worlds invite or two

So the announcement at states is going to be...

"There's an announcement at Regionals, please look forward to it."

Can we get a extra tiny little hint at Washinton States maybe? Like is this announcement about someting that will be happening at all Regionals or just ours?

I saw what the cool thing that they will give to all people who come to regi-onals and states and I just have say to mark your calendars for it. (you'll get the joke when you go to states)

WOW, so much speculation on what Chris' BIG announcement will be. Since Chris and I are partners in this great Pokemon journey, I am one of the few people who actually knows what the announcement is.

Wait! I thought it was a joint announcement. Now it's Chris's BIG announcement. You are partners, aren't you?

We both know that Chris may occassionally be over-enthusiastic. Perhaps you can participate, but not to the extreme that Chris takes things. Then again, you can leave the crazyness to us newer PTO's.

New Player Bonus

Announcement - Announcement - Announcement

I mentioned that I would be making an announcement about States this weekend, and here it is. Those of you that know us know that the main goal of all of our events is FUN! States will be one of the biggest Pokemon parties of the year. Players who are competing for ranking points or trophies will find it challenging and rewarding. BUT we want everyone that comes to have a blast, even those new to the game, so we've decided to offer a little something extra to our new players. However, why just limit it to new players? Here's the deal: Bring a new player to the 2009 Oregon State Championships and you each get a pack of Platinum. Just so we're clear on how this will work, here's the rules -
  • To be considered a "new player" the person must not have played in any of our Premier events before. Those include Prereleases, Battle Roads, City Championships, Oregon State Championships or Regionals held in Oregon.
  • Both the new player and the person bringing them must register together and must tell the person registering them that they want the "Bring a new player" deal.
  • If we determine that the new player has played in one of our Premier events before, neither the new player or the player who brought them will be given a pack.
  • Packs will be distributed during the lunch break at the stage. Both players should come up together and claim their packs.
Everybody wins with this deal, you get to introduce someone new to the best TCG there is, and the new player gets a prize, just for showing up! That's just the beginning though, just wait 'til the party begins!

Well my daughter wont qualify as she played in the New years day Chucke E Cheeses City Championship. (and went 2-3 wit her R5 opponent being the only 4-0 player in Jrs.)

But we are binging some players from our leauge who hqve not played in Oregon yet so we can use them.

I need to bring in a 'new, never before been to a tournament player' hey? Gosh, I just signed up 5 new players at league on Sunday. We had them sitting on the floor. I'll have to coax them to come to the big Oregon event.

which reminds me, BDS, will you have any theme decks for sale at states and regionals? I really think they will sell. Please, please? Our new members need legal decks. Thank goodness for the reprint of switch and potion or the new players wouldn't have a single legal trainer.

Thank you.

Can't wait for the big announcement!

BOY do we have Theme Decks and Boosters. We've been setting a box or two aside as each set came out over the last year. We'll have a great selection at reasonable prices. The store will also have a HUGE selection of Pokemon merchandise that Momma_June has been pulling in from the World over, the Pokemon World that is. Figures, Japanese sleeves, charms and much, much more. That's just the store! Wait 'til you see what's in store for the rest of the event, not to mention Chris' BIG announcement.

Just found out sunday, I can't make it to Washington states.
My cousin is getting married and stuff, so...
At least its not on Regi-onals.
But I'll be there for states.

I just can't wait for either of these tournaments! We are bringing at least 4 of our best masters players up with us to
Washington, and at least 12 people to Oregon States, but hopefully more than that!
