Yeah, maybe you're right. If they did that, I'd definitely be surprised as well. But not for the way you think. I think the chances of it happening are pretty nil.

I'm sure TPCi would love to do that. However, I kinda doubt they have that much control over English exclusive cards. I don't know for sure, but I would imagine that card designs are proprietary to the card makers in Japan, and they'd have to deliberately get special permission and artwork from them to distribute. Not a small feat.

Not only that, but it brings up the whole exclusivity problem to start with .... Why should the English speaking world get an exclusive? What makes us blokes so deserving and not the rest of the world? How about Italian? Dutch? German, Russian, French, Korean, Spanish, Urdu, Swahili? Nope, it just opens things to too much controversy if you ask me.

Because we're the biggest Pokemon TCG market? It's either us or Japan and I don't think Pokemon TCG is even popular in Japan. They have an entire mix of other things.

And even if they did, what's to say that somebody* won't spoil it for everybody anyways? Then all that work is for naught.

*note: intentionally ~not~ saying any names or pointing any fingers. It could seriously be anybody anywhere on the chain.

So ... what's your point? I'm not saying that I agree or disagree with you or whatever point you are trying to make, but what makes that so important? Why do you believe that just because you and the rest of the english speaking world may or may not buy the most cards that you DESERVE to get an exclusive? Just because you send the most business to a specific plumber doesn't mean that he has to make a pipe specifically for you .... or Hollywood should make a movie just for you, Toyota should make a car specifically for you ... hey, just who do you think you are anyway?:rolleyes:

No, you and I don't DESERVE any exclusives, but if we did happen to receive one, chances are we wouldn't see multiple exclusives in a set, and like Mystery Thing suggests, chances are that sooner or later anyone in the chain of custody would have the chance to spoil the surprise.

Poppycock. Pure poppycock. Good business isn't giving the consumer everything they want. It's making them believe that you want the same things they do.... and at a cheaper price. Giving them what they want will only make them want more.

What they need to do is create a demand for their product that they DO HAVE, not for pie in the sky that they don't currently offer. That's good business. For example take Tim Horton's here in Canada. They don't have the BEST coffee here in Canada, but they certainly are the most successful. They made a name for themselves by having a system of FRESH coffee and FRESH donuts at a reasonable price, advertised the heck out of it, and went from there. Then they started to add other things, like muffins, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, soup and sandwiches, and lately even panini, all the while adding stores and advertisement up the ying yang to create AND fill the demand. THAT'S GOOD BUSINESS. They've all but crushed any possible competition. Pokemon could learn a lesson from them, that's for sure.

Any English exclusive would also be printed and distributed in every other language the Pokémon TCG is printed in, EXCEPT Japanese and Korean. All the other languages (French, German, Italian, etc.) have the same sets as we do, and base their products off of ours.

Says who? Why does it have to follow that other language sets HAVE TO HAVE the exact same makeup that english sets do? Then what's so exclusive about that? If that is the case, then there's no such thing as an exclusive.

As it stands now, I don't know of ANY cards that are English exclusive that Japan didn't get at one time or another, albeit possibly much later. I may only be misinformed or have a very poor memory, but I can't think of any. However I DO know of many Japanese exclusive cards.

Cards, no. But exclusive artworks, yes. (We have 15 exclusive artworks printed on cards for the BW series, not printed in Japan)

To be fair, Japan still hasn't gotten the regular Black Kyurem and White Kyurem we got in Boundaries Crossed.

Ok, that's cool. I pretty much stopped paying attention last year sometime probably just about that time. However again, ... I suspect what you class as exclusive isn't the same as what I think of as exclusive. When I'm talking about an English exclusive, I mean that NO OTHER LANGUAGE GROUPS have the opportunity to print the same card. Why do you guys think that you deserve to get one of those? Or for that matter, why do you think that even Japan should be excluded from printing a particular card? Or that any language besides Japan should get even more than one of such exclusives in a set?

Thanks for the info about the art exclusives, but as I mentioned above, I suppose they aren't all that exclusive if everyone but Japan has them anyway.
