Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Pokemon TCG Online multiplayer build delayed until 8/22

I take it you're one of the many TCGO regulars who have all mass stampeded over here to complain and whine about the fact that the game is still not up?

I was going to avoid this, but whatever...

Those of you complaining its taking to long and the company is "wronging" you-It's clear you have never in your lives worked with coding of any sorts to any extent, or you would realize that bugs DO happen, ESPECIALLY when editing code to have new features or things to that extent. And, by the way, when these bugs are found and then corrected, they have to be tested. If for some reason the correction doesn't work 100% correctly, or if it doesn't react quite right with something (IE Rocky Helmet not working, then you change the code, it may not work to apply over Lucario's ability anymore. If it doesn't, then you have to diagnose and fix that) then you have to spend time figuring out why, finding a fix, implementing the fix, then testing it again!

Also, computers have a funny way of not all reacting the same. For example, if the TCGO team has been testing on one set of computers, with even a minute hardware difference, there can be issues when you transfer this to another set of computers. (Remember yesterday when Liesik updated us with the news that the game had been moved onto the servers? This could've resulted in errors on these machines)

At this point, I'm going to guess they've all been testing the game on different configurations of computer at this point, just making checks to make sure no code blatantly just doesn't work. It's the right thing to do to ensure the product isn't a joke. (AKA Avoid last time)

In essence, give them a break. Would you want to be in their shoes with a bunch of angry, (excuse it, but it's true) selfish, people that have 0 understanding of what goes into this at all? Really, would you? If you've answered yes, it's clear you've never tried making estimates on things that can only be estimated very broadly until you are near the end.

You want the game now, eh? Would you rather them spend these few days fixing every bug they can find or release a version as bugged as the last one? You know, it would essentially be killing the brand if they released it as bugged as the last one, because people would just get fed up. Consider it.

In any case, I'm completely ashamed of the community's response last night, and find it appalling that this group of people, who pride themselves on being the best community in gaming, acting like children. Yes, children are the ones who go around "I want it NOW" despite not knowing what complications be there preventing them from getting it "NOW". Children also go around whining that they're entitled to everything exactly how and when they want it. I've seen more of that in this thread then I've seen in anything in the history of The Pokegym, or frankly any Pokemon forum.

Another thing I've never seen so much of-Updates from the guys up top. This is a FANTASTIC thing for them to be doing, when they could choose to leave us all in the dark. Instead, they choose to keep us informed. In light of this, it's incredible how ungrateful some of you people are.

And for goodness' sake-If you aren't satisfied YOU DON'T HAVE TO PLAY IT. Nobody is sitting there threatening you with harm if you don't play it!

And to head this off-I know I'm going to get at least 5+ responses "Your a Senior/young, you don't know anything." If you don't reply, I can guarantee that many people will completely shrug my post off because of it. Take a second and ignore the screen name and the rainbow penguin picture under it, and your bias from all the times I've offended you (You and I both know who you are) and just think about what your posting before you post it. It'd do the community a great favor.

I'm just as disappointed we can't play the game yet. Doesn't mean I'm running around here trashing the people running it because I can.

Anyway, to all who have worked on this game, thank you very much for all the hard work and effort you've put into it. I very much look forward to the game.

king piplup you're so boring.... i wish the game comes out soon, so i can stop reading you complain about complains. that' s the most annoying stuff to read when you're already upset about something that is going wrong. :nonono:
Also it's NOT FANTASTIC that i have to come to this sour topic to have vague updates, while they have an official channel and they're not using it.

I honestly had no idea you were a senior, simply that you closely followed lower age divisions, and your post would have done nothing to convince me you were a senior. Very level-headed and thought out. Relax people, complaining won't make them release it any quicker.

yea it is all about the pulls... i believe it was about 1 ex for every 10 packs... i may put together a video on youtube once i start opening some

It is a professional project with a development team payed for their job and a lot of customers who paid for the product (by buying boosters, preconstructed...).

If they put a deadline, they should respect it (and it includes debugging too).

If the deadline was too short, something is wrong with the developement team who chose this deadline.

As a customer I would be disappointed.

As a developper I understand that bugs always happen and we're always a bit late, but when we encounter problems in our developpement we speak about this with our client BEFORE the deadline and we give a new deadline.

Have you employed trainees for this job ?

The game I now available to the public. The website will remain in maintenance while we resolve some redemption issues. Go! Play! What are you waiting for?!?

The site isn't up, checking the client...

---------- Post added 08/23/2012 at 05:39 PM ----------

The client is up... waiting for the site to go up so I can redeem my codes.

To clarify, codes can be redeemed in game right now. It's just the website that is having redemption issues.

Where can I download the client if the website is still down? :thumb:

Was just about to ask the same thing, I'm brand new to the TCGO and have only discovered it during the time of it's maintenance, so I haven't been able to get the client, if there is some way to get it without using the website while it's down for maintenance, then the help is much appreciated.

Could those of you with the setup file host it elsewhere?
The site is still down so there's no download link.

Can M_Liesik or anyone else supply me with a link to download the client PLEASE. I had to uninstall it because it crashed trying to update so i just uninstalled it. Anyone who can help me with this would be a great help and may have a reward of sorts for them (Dragon Snarl Theme Deck Code!) to the first person who can help. I would go to the site to redownload but its still in maintenance aaahhhh!!!!!!!

I had to re-install Windows the other night. That's how I lost my client...
I would definitely appreciate some help from either a user or a dev.
