Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

PSP or 3DS?

Shaymin: How long have you had the 3DS? How long the PSP? Normalize that way, and you might find something interesting...

I haven't read thorough the thread, but I'm super impressed and happy with my 3DS. I sold my PSP a year or two ago and haven't missed it too much (except for having mobile FF7 on trips, that was AWESOME.)

PSP has Kingdom Hearts and the early Final Fantasy remakes. The 3DS is just... better, imo.

It seems like ever since Super Mario Land 3D came out, the 3DS seems to be making a comeback. Everywhere I go, I seem to be walking past people with street pass, whether it's from restaurants, retail stores, or even at a heatlh club. Another thing the 3DS has going now is Nintendo is going to have a major update on the 3DS, which will be on November 30th. With the new update, i'll list the new and updated features the 3DS will have.

- New Street Pass Game: Find Mii 2
- Mii Channel: Will now have a globe
- 3D video recording (10 min)
- Edit the 3D videos
- Send messages to other players (probably similar to the feature they have on the Wii)
- Being able to join their game (wonder how exactly the mechanic will work...)
- You can close your 3DS while the system is downloading the games, rather than just leave it open until the installation is complete.
- Download demos to try out the games
- 10 more Virtual GBA games from the Abassador Program

Also, with Mario Kart 7 coming out in a week or so, you're bound to find several people on the street with Mario Kart. I betcha the game will be so addicting that your glad you'll have a 3DS and the MK7 handy!

I've had my PSP since Christmas '10. I got mine late haha. I'm in no way saying either system is bad. I was just stating that the 3DS doesn't offer much now, though it will later. I guess I could have worded it better though, wording definitely isn't my strong point.

As a matter of fact I've already used my 3DS now more than ever (Not counting just games, just altogether) because of Mario 3D Land making me pick it back up. And whenever Ambassador's GBA games roll around, well, I'll be the happiest guy on earth with the games I played most as a little kid.

You know I do have one random question about 3DS games come to think of it...

Ok, so with all the older DS games, they're only playable over WFC if your router is set to no security (stupid in any respect) or WEP (which we don't use at my household since it's weaker than WPA, and we've had issues back then with WEP). So even though I have the DSi for example, I could not play any games over WFC since even though the DSi could connect to do internet browsing and visiting the store, the games themselves would not. And don't get me started on the piece of junk they called the Nintendo USB Connector, I don't think I've met a more frustrating device than it...

So with 3DS games, does it support WPA? As in, I'll be able to play them over WFC with my WPA router? That to me would be a major make-or-break type of deal, as if it doesn't, I'll just live without Super Mario Land 3DS and the 3d remakes for now and enjoy good old DSi until a Pokemon 3DS game forces a switch.

armilo, youre clearly a fanboy, and because of it, its blinding you from actually looking at the systems from both sides. its VERY obvious that you like YOUR psp, but that wasnt what the OP was asking for was it?

and no, i dont cry to my mommy and daddy begging for the new nintendo product. i go out and buy it myself because i know QUALITY product when i see it.

oh, and nintendo releases bundles because they know collectors like to go out and purchase them. not because of weak sales or anything of the like. they have the money and market to do it. whereas sony...not so much.

your "outsold" theory is also incorrect. look at the xbox. it wasnt geared towards children but yet, sold millions. where are your facts about that. if your theory was correct, the wii shouldve outsold the xbox easily, but it didnt.

look man, quit tryin to pick an argument, i said i was over it. i wasn't trying to call the bundles an attempt at sales, it's just what happens, every system has done it. And people sure were quick to just say, get a 3DS, i really like mine, soooo how is it any different when i said, get a PSP i really like mine, oh i get it it's because i wasn't going along with what you wanted :/ I never said YOU cry to your mommy and daddy did i? so cool your jets there hoss. quality is very apparent in both systems but the dude already decided to get a 3DS first, sony has money up the wazooo to do with what they want (i.e. make and release the Vita, thus sinking more money into the handheld wars which nintendo has a chokehold on because of their prime target audience) so i'm sure they're sitting real pretty. I don't know what "outsold" theory you speak of, i knew that the 3DS outsold the PSP in every demographic, which makes me think you're just trying to pick a fight, and it wasn't even me who debunked you. And what's this business about the xbox? i hate when ppl start grabbing other things that are irrelevant to the topic on hand in order to gain some upper hand. I do very much like my PSP, I do like my 3DS, but the 3DS hasn't done anything too great thus far where my PSP has been the model of consistency throughout the years i've had it.
I've indulged your whim to drag this out, but didn't bring anything new to the table, so what are you going to tell me now?

People - let's be civil about this sort of discussion. People prefer one over the other, but there is no need to get on the offensive on why everybody should play that system.

Everybody is entitled to their opinion. Nobody is entitled to an attack.

Consider this the warning.

The Wii did outsell the Xbox360 by something on the order of 45mil units as of 30 Sept 2011. The wii has sold almost as many units worldwide than the PS3 and Xbox360 combined. Impressive on Nintendo's part.

I have a PSP and have had one forever. I also have a 3DS. I agree with the previous poster that said to wait for the Vita or get a cheap PSP 3001. The Target sale on the 3DS for 145$ is boss. Hit that up if you can.

is that units SHIPPED or SOLD? there is a BIG difference between shipped and sold.

great wall o txt im not reading that. lol

skyline: vgchartz.com. No, they're not the most accurate thing out there. But they get it generally right.

The Wii has sold approximately 90 million units.
360: 58.5 million
PS3: 56 million

One other note, I don't have the money for one yet, so it is likely that there will be a lot more games for the 3DS by the time I get it.

Breaking News!

The firmware update for the 3DS got delayed until December 8th!

Shucks... :frown:

Actually it's due between now and the 8th. A detail I've seen a lot of people overlook. It really isn't a big deal though, if it were the big selling point of the 3DS then it'd be a bigger problem...but then there'd be other problems
