That's what I was wondering too. If it did, then in theory you could have 4 of the stage 2 Beedrills and 4 Beedrill Gs. Although bench space is limited to 6...imagine SSU your Claydols or whatever techs and drop 2 Beedrill Gs for 60 more damage...

However, if one must argue that they don't count, I offer the following response: The card Charon's choice allows you to switch out your active Rotom for any Rotom in your deck. However, most of the popular Rotoms are not just named Rotom (e.g Fan Rotom, Cut Rotom, etc). That being said, we are still allowed to use Charon's Choice to switch out any one of those Rotoms. That is food for thought, eh?

wow i hope they do lol that will keep beedrill still slightly playable and such but it still has a problem with blaziken so but still i would like to here a ruling when this comes out.Hopefully it will be that the drill g count lol

Beedrill doesn't get extra damage from Beedrill G. Beedrill GE is looking for something with the name "Beedrill", not "Beedrill G". Rotoms are the pokemon "Rotom". Just different forms.

G is part of the name. Just like how Luxray GL lv.X can only level up from Luxray GL.

Initial Impressions:

ScepTerra is officially dead. Long Live Sceptile!

Charizard actually looks somewhat decent. 140 hp with a 100+ damage attack for 3? Not too bad, IMO.

Thank you for making Rapidash. Safeguard returns, and it's actually not too bad.

Omastar actually looks somewhat decent. I wonder how it'd work with Aerodactyl's stacking Body...

I actually kinda like Froslass. If only that attack rose from the depths of suckage...

The Rats also look pretty decent.

I see some interesting possibilities with Zapdos. Most probably won't be realized...

I'm not sure how to make the three Gengars work well together, but I expect it won't be that difficult.

OK, I'm beginning to see a new Fossil deck come into view. I just wonder how good it'd actually be...

Toxicroak and Hariyama remind me a LOT of the top decks from the Professor Cup from last year.

Bronzor just looks kool.

Probopass looks very interesting working alongside something like Porygon2.

Raticate is *evil* against Cyrus.

Salamence + Delcatty = FUNTIMES!!!

IMO, Lopunny > Blissey healing.

PorygonZ is now a required TecH in all SP decks.

There are too many ways around Lucky Egg for it to be useful.

I'd like to drop Expert Belt onto Flygon. 140 HP with an 80+ damage attack is always fun. 160 is even better.

If only Bench Shield weren't a Tool...

Gengar 46 can't find its way into any Gengar deck, period.

Compared to Platinum, this just has some kool ideas. Then again, not every set can be as good as Platinum.

How are any of the Sceptiles in this set better than PT Torterra?

The theme deck Sceptile is lousy because of it's second attack. The set Sceptile has to have all the energy on it to do big damage. PT Torterra, for 2 energy can do insane damage because it can count all the energy on all of your pokemon. Sure, it doesn't have the small potion heal of the set Sceptile, but I feel it would be the better companion with the 2x grass Sceptile.

Beedrill doesn't get extra damage from Beedrill G. Beedrill GE is looking for something with the name "Beedrill", not "Beedrill G". Rotoms are the pokemon "Rotom". Just different forms.

So you're implying that Cut Rotom or Fan Rotom are all just Rotoms but different forms? Then where does that leave the Deoxys from LA? That being said, then you 're also implying that we could only have a total of 4 Rotoms in our decks, regardless of forms. That is obviously not the case, as we are allowed to have 4 of each, as long as they have different names.

I'm not saying that I'm 100% right and that Beedrill G counts for the attack, but like I mentioned before, we need to look at Charon's Choice. It says we can get a Rotom card. If we are allowed to substitute Cut Rotom in place of Frost Rotom, then we should be able to count the Beedrill.

If I went the grammar route, (even though maybe POP didn't intend on the creation of SPs at the time), Beedrill GE's attack would need to use quotes around the word Beedrill to indicate it would have to say only Beedrill to count. Maybe an errata will occur when this new set comes out the US. As I said before, this is just food for thought.

The Tool thing is a rulebook statement, it doesn't HAVE to be stated explicitly on the card.

Also, spiritomb.

^^You might be right. Maybe someone could get a hold of PokePop or BDS and ask them, since we can't use Ask the Rules Team for future sets.

Gengar, Spiritomb, Expert Belt, and maybe salamance is all this set has to offer. Ugh can we get our HGSS set already?

I like the idea of the new Cherrim in Scizor/Cherrim. Excluding Dialga G Lvl X, it'd make those Honeycomb Defenders a LOT harder to KO.

^totally broken. unfortunately it will usually only go 50-50 instead of 80-80, as no one will ever get it to 110 damage with all that healing. you'd also need sceptile with hat 3 energy cost...

I don't even care about the rest of the set. As soon as I saw spiritomb I stopped. A near 80-90% way to stop most donks and get set-up? Spiritomb just went from being a terrible start to one of the best. EASILY the best card in the set

^ Lol I didnt even realise it stops donks xD
It stops donks and SP Rush (No Gain No Turn No Warp No Radar), how sick is this O_O *drools*

There's nothing to ask. They've said as much about 100,000,000 times now from people asking over and over again if Unown G gets around the "one tool" rule because Unown G's power doesn't say anything about conflicting with other tools.

This set is awesome. 4 First Door, 4 Great Ball, 4 Rose. Arceus is now SUPER PLAYABLE. First Door, if I'm not mistaken also can get Arceus Lv X. WOW. Just wow.

The trainers and supporters in this set are AMAZING. Wowza wowza. Expert Belt... just wow. The Supporter that gets tools may or may not be playable, but Porygon Z SP could be useful to get back Energy Gain.

The Pokemon aren't that great, though. But those Trainers... I <3 this set.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Spiritomb even stops Power Spray...
I L O V E this card <3

Spiritomb will be a good starter for evolution decks. Less Rare Candy will need to be played because of this card.

I wasn't even talking about that. I was talking about the Beedrill G thing.
