it can get donked, shuppet and 3 crobats later =), it is a great card though, could be a nice tech in gengar to stall before poltergeist when you want to evolve your bench as well.

Lol, so it has a bad Shuppet matchup. Oh well.

Anybody see this card?

Sceptile LV.57 – Grass – HP120
Stage 2 – Evolves from Grovyle

Poke-Body: Green Breath
Whenever you attach a Grass Energy from your hand to this Pokemon, remove 2 damage counters from this Pokemon.

[G] Leaf Blast: Does 20 damage times the number of Grass Energy attached to Sceptile.
[G][C][C][C] Poison Claws: 60 damage. The Defending Pokemon is now Poisoned.

Weakness: Fire (+30)
Resistance: Water (-20)
Retreat: 2

This has archetype potential. Treeko SF has built in CFF, and it has Sceptile tech in GE Sceptile... Maybe? 120 for 3 is good, plus healing.

Wow with this set gengar is really going to dominate but at least there are a lot of good cards in here though. PT-on is going to be one of the best formats if they keep sets like these up.

Like I said earlier in the thread, Torterra PL is superior. For 2 energy, it is doing a base of 80. Throw a grass on a benched Pokemon, and it is doing 100. Have 4 grass energy in play and Torterra does 120 damage.

The difference between Torterra and Sceptile is that Sceptile has to have all the energy on it. Torterra can spread it around to all of the Pokemon. You could 3 energy sitting on Sceptile on the bench while there is 2 on your Active Torterra, rocking away for 140 damage a shot. For Sceptile to do that, you need 4 energy on Sceptile, which you will lose when it gets KO'd.

Also, Torterra has the Lv.X to borrow extra HP and attacks from, and a pretty sweet Poke-Power.

I don't really see any variants of Sceptile GE becoming that big, but of all the variants, I feel Sceptile GE/Torterra PL is the strongest and least vunerable to Fainting Spell flips, or Machamp Hurricane Punches for OHKOs.

^ Not saying I dont agree but you should consider, having a supporter in your main line is far better then running 2 lines^^

(Just imagine if Nidoqueen would be a Gengar :p)

didn't even see that attack on sceptile might be a fun archetype. Could be new gg as they both evolve from the same poke. LOL not :p

Lol, it CAN'T GET DONKED, I don't know why people are saying that...

AH, I LOVE SPIRITOMB.

But it can. It has some protection but not as much as it would appear at first glance. It does not protect vs the following:

* BTS ... Machop to Machoke to Machamp, attach fighting, & GG sir. Stadium =/= Trainer anymore.
* High T1 damage dealer + Crobat G ... For instance Sableye + special dark + Crobat.

It also doesn't do so much vs the high T2 damage decks (Luxray gl, Absol g, etc.) if they get the X out and 2 energy attached while you fail to get another Pokemon.

I like Spiritomb, and admit that it really does change the odds of being donked a lot. It's just that it's not fullproof.

Why did you have to ruin my fun t,t" ?

Nontheless SP should be be pretty slow without Turn&Gain&Radar, if you dont get the Luxray start it will take some turns to get it up. Imagine a Spiritomg vs Bronzong G start *drools*

I noticed the Gulpin as well. It seems to be a mistake, since the other three shiny's have the Barrier Star body.

I love the idea of Salamence level X with SF Salamence. If Battle Rush is in effect, the level X can do 100 for RW and then just discard one of them, every single turn. A tech 1-1 Starmie RR line could be added to retrieve discarded W energy, which would be the only energy you'd choose to discard with the attack since it lets you make the choice and is retrievable directly to the hand (with Starmie). Being able to take 2 prizes at once for RW is truly amazing. Premier Ball or even possibly Super Scoop Up (since it attacks for so cheap with Battle Rush and has high HP) to allow for repeated double-prize drawing sweetens the deal. Between this and Expert Belt (and the preexisting Cresselia lv. X), the old Ex mechanic is making a bit of a resurgence.

The deck could also nix Starmie and run Delcatty instead, and go for a 2-1-1 on the Salamence, running a single regular version from this set. I'm not a huge fan of it though.

I like Luxray/Expert Belt/Weavile also, with a tech LA Luxray thrown in possibly. It would be similar to Flygon. On top of the Expert Belts, unneeded Unown Gs could also be discarded to do 100, and a handful of other Unown tools such as E or even Q could be added for a searchable +40.

As weak as it would be to Dialga G and Infernape 4/Blaziken FB/Blaziken PL, Tangrowth SF + the level X + Shaymin lv. X would prove very difficult for most other decks to take down. Pokehealer and/or Blissey PL could be run as well to increase the tank-age.

Raticate reminds me of Stantler UF. I could see a fun disruption deck built with it, Broken Time Space, Giratina, and possibly Mesprit along with Expert Belt-- get out Raticate turn 1, get their hand down to nothing, then Summon away any recovery Supporter so that they are helpless, and then start hitting for big, cheap damage with Grown Fang.

Raticate would be amusing to play with Gardevoir. You discard their supporters with Rat's attack and then use them again the next turn with Garde's power.

The older Ampharos could be fun with Rat too. Danged if they play that supporter and danged if they don't.
