Hello everyone, Retro from Morley in Perth, Western Australia here just letting everyone know about how the boxes are opened and placed into separate packs. The reason why this is done is because we do get a younger audience trying to open packs before the signal is actually given. The other reason is so that equal amounts can be distributed quickly as possible as we are now getting over 40 attendees at our events.
Retro has held two pre releases now, one for Boundaries Crossed and the other for Plasma Storm.
Boundaries Crossed randomization and allocation:
Box was opened
First 6 packs were chosen in a single line and then sealed, this was repeated until the box was finished.
The packs for each box were kept so that no pack stacking occurs.
Outcome, there were people who miraculously got 2 EX's and some that didnt get any. This information was taken on board for the next pre release.
Plasma Storm randomization and allocation:
Box was opened
Entire box was cross shuffled into 6 different packs one by one and then sealed into a bag.
The sealed bag was then placed back into the box so that no stacked bundles of packs could go to any specific area.
Outcome: Some people got two EX's some lucked out once again. However the EX's were spread around the area, there was no one table that got all EX's.
It seems that two different approaches have been made in an attempt to make pre releases as fair as possible but the locations and contents are so random it really does come down to luck of the draw.
Now, the official release was yesterday and with our limited stock I did manage to see a lot of bad luck accompanied by a lot of good luck. It's random and even blows us away at whats left inside the box.
Thanks to all who are here and attended our event, next one should be bigger and better. I wish you all the best in your future pulls.
