These don't sound like bad places. Probably can expect to see Eastern Regionals in Memphis or Nashville...which ever one they decide on. Wouldn't mind either one really.
Come on, we need it in Memphis.Memphis has a far larger player source.

I've got an application on my computer that lets me do population studies and here are some approximate guesses as to what the regional boundreies are:

Northwest-OR, WA, AK
Northern California-N. CA, N. NV
Southern California-S. CA, S. NV, HI
Mountain West-ID, MT,UT, CO, AZ, NM
Midwest-MN, WI, IA, IL
Southern Plains-TX, OK
Mississippi Valley-LA, AR, MS
Great Lakes-IN, MI, OH
New England-ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI
Northeast-NY, NJ, PA
Mid-Atlantic-MD, DE, DC, VA, NC
Eastern-MO, KY, TN
Southeast-SC, GA, FL

Toss-ups: WV, ND, SD, KS, NB, AL

Again, I have no inside knowledge, and I may revise it later (Eastern and Mississippi Valley seem smallish)

Hey, maybe Dick Cheney will build an undisclosed location and double its population. ;)

I had to put them somewhere, folks.

Hmmm, so one thing I notice about Southern Plains is the great debate, "Will it be in Texas or Oklahoma?!"

Might I be the first to suggest that it be in neither. Rather, for a much more successful representation of the similar TX/OK metagames, the regional for the South should be held AT LAKE TEXOMA!

What say you guys? Manageable, Vince? ^_-

Since when is NC Mid-Atlantic? Do you have a special map???? LOL!

It keeps the regions somewhat more even in size.

I think it is going to be a MO/KY/TN grouping...since that would be much more fair in terms of actual player base - maybe even add Alabama (no OP) or MS (YAY Schells!) to that grouping.

Hmmm, although there's nothing confirmed, here's some obvious (and not-so obvious) speculation on where each regional will be held:

Northwest-Washington
Northern California-OBV
Southern California-OBV
Mountain West-Colorado
Midwest-Illinois
Southern Plains-Texas
Mississippi Valley-OBV
Great Lakes-Michigan
New England-Mass
Northeast-NY
Mid-Atlantic-Virginia
Eastern-Tennessee
Southeast-FL =/

So yeah, these are some solid regional choices. I cannot wait!!!

IDK Patriarch, I think the Mid-Atlantic will be in Maryland. Mountain West will probably be Utah, too, methinks.

For California you also have to take in account the huge population of Pokemon players, not just the population in general.

Yoshi, you obviously don't know about the fanatics from North Carolina.

I have made the appropriate corrections below to the regions to account for them...

No, don't add us in that grouping! We wanna be in "Mississippi (namesake  ) Valley" with LA, but of course we'll travel to your region if its Memphis-ish and perhaps visa versa? AL will probably be grouped with MS, LA, and AR. (No registered players in AR, and one in AL, so we may as well call it MS vs. LA vs. invaders  [TN!? TX!? MO!!?? ]) Hopefully one more region might be accessable to us for travel...who knows...

:frown: Hey now, Memphis usually has a rather large turnout for anything greater than Cities what with MO flooding down into it. And MS/LA OP has began picking up considerably as we keep gaining new members. :thumb:

I was speaking purely from a general population standpoint-for some strange reason Pokemon player distribution isn't a data set in my program.

Obviously you need a patch for your program. Yer missing very vital information. What kinda map program doesn't include Pokemon player population? :nonono:

Funny, we usually get as many MS players "flooding" as we do MO players at the TN events...

For the last ones, there have been 5 or less players "invading" (OK, it's all my X-Terra can hold)

I suppose yer right. Never really paid attention. XD I believe we have our traveling numbers up to about 10ish now. (God bless the 12 passanger van) And its a pretty safe bet the Lynches will head north if Regionals are in Memphis and thats 4 more. (perhaps for States too) Well, since we usually stay with my aunt, we probably won't take as many people as we do to LA and South MS, though if we made it a one day trip, perhaps... And who knows, if Regionals is Memphis-ish (which we all hope it is  ) LA might invade too (with some South MS players)!

yoshi, you can narrow the mountain west to UT (Salt Lake) and CO (CO Springs / Denver) because those two states by far have the largest population of Pokemon players in the mountain west region.

I suspect UT will get it for a number of reasons:

- GL Blaine (PTO from UT) ran last year's West Stadium
- CO has about a dozen traveling players, UT has few, if any
- UT is more central, CO is more isolated

Nevertheless, I think CO would be a GREAT choice to hold the mountain west regionals. Maybe it would pull in a few OK, NE, NM, and TX players who wouldn't otherwise come (if it were in UT).

BTW, AZ is NOT considered part of the mountain west region.

I was merely stating the extent of the region, not where the events would probably be. I realize most of the mountain west is very sparse (it covers an absolutely huge area). As for Arizona, I see it as a toss-up-either going in the S. CA area or mountain West. We'll see what PUI does.

I rather like this region idea from a organizational standpoint-I've been meaning to create one for PIRN correspendence.

Is there any regionals on the eastern coast

Hi all quick question does anyone know where the regional and nationals will be on the east coast if any

Nat'ls are at Origins in Columbus OH and will be for some time. There are 13 regionals and there will be an eastern regional, my guess would be in Sensei's backyard ie Rockville MD.
