agreed. i think we'll just have to see if the metagame turns into zekrom donk like it is in japan right now. if it isn't super popular i'm just going to leave the deck as is. it has really good match-ups versus alot of what will likely become the new deck archetypes such as emboar-reshiram and donphan. it also does pretty well versus cincinno believe it or not. i tested it against a variant of speed cincinno and it actually won 4 of the 5 games we played last night. i'm really starting to like this deck alot, and i hope it does well next format.

-2-2 or -1-1 Noctowl and +2-2 or +1-1 Zoroark maybe? Just adding thoughts and possibilities.
@garchomp yeah that's definitely a way to fit it should i need to. i have yet to test against zekrom donk yet but i actually JUST got like 3 zekrom pulls today from a victini box + tin, and i already had 2 soooo, i might just make one to test against samurott. i'm bouncing deck ideas for it as i type.

To counter Zekrom (I have a pretty good one myself), use Feraligatr. It's attack does 60+10 for each Damage Counter on the Defending Pokemon. This is helpful when they have just knocked someone out and the have 40 Damage, you send up Feraligatr and deal 100, KOing them unless they have an Expert Belt, which would just suck.
no it's a guaranteed ko actually. this is a hgss on deck and there's no expert belt for the next format. feraligatr is definitely an option, but it would take 4 water energy to power his attack, where as i can use 0-2 with zoroark if i can get rescue. although 2 rescue is very unlikely. feraligatr is inefficient, but it does in fact revenge ko if i can get all the energy on him. the only problem is once it's on him i have no way of moving it...

Switch Seeker no BTS fail!!! Well, adding Zoroark would decrease consistency, which is not good in this deck. What would you take out for a 2-2 line of Zoroark? I might go -4 Rare Candy, -1 Twins, -1 Professor Elm's Training Method, +1 Dewott, +1 Crocanaw, and +2-2 Zoroark. Also, do you really need 4 Pokemon Collector? I would -1 Pokemon Collector and +1 Pokemon Communicatkion.

Uh, what? Firstly, I would NEVER take out the Candies, as they make the deck much quicker. and I don't need another Dewott or Croconaw at all. I don't even want a 2-2 Zoroark so I'm confused. I thought we were discussing what to take out for a ONE ONE line to tech against Zekrom, not completely changing the deck around lol.

or even

+1-1 Zoroark
that would actually probably work pretty nicely actually without sacrificing too much overall consistency.

Sweet do it! I want to get all the necessary cards soon so I don't have to Proxy at all. I got so many packs today and I didn't pull one *******' Shell Armor Samurott, just 2 of the meh ones. :nonono:
I'm supposedly going to get the other 2 I need at my league this upcoming thursday though, so it will be complete by then at the latest, proxy free.

Sucks that you got 2 of the crappy ones... But I actually got extremely lucky!! At the Prerelease, I pulled one, and at my local League they had 3 AT $3.25 apiece!!!!! Hope you find someone to trade with at league, as I too hate playing with Proxies. Try bringing Inferno Fandango Emboar if you have any spare. People in my area trade a lot for them... SO that means a lot of Emboar decks being played. I'll give you some results after I play a couple of games with it!!
I've already played this deck against Emboar-Reshiram. It completely stomps it, no question. An Emboar deck going against this is pretty much auto-loss for them, barring an extremely bad start for the Samurott.
so, have fun stomping the rampant Emboars for me!

Yeah.. I don't think Emboar stands up to all of the hype. I could beat it with a Serperior Tank Deck. Actually, Serperior Tank's not that bad. Once it is set up, it heals any non lethal damage. I am curious to try that against this. Also, does this deck really need 4 Smeargle? I don't know...
no, it doesn't. it can run just fine on 3 actually, but no fewer than that. 4 makes it a better chance of an opening smeargle, but not by as much as you'd think. regardless, you can run 3 and use the extra space for another twins. you can also run 3 and add a bouffalant to revenge kill an opposing zekrom. i'm seriously considering adding the bouffalant over the 1-1 zoroark tech because it's a basic with the same hp and is able to pull of the exact same purpose for the same amount of energy. i can't believe i just noticed what this card does...

Yeah with no BTS, I found that Zoroark was useless. I played 5 Games and 4 of them I started with Zoroa! It's funny because there is only one Zoroa in the deck.
try bouffalant and see how that works out for you. i think it's a great tech tbh. i can't believe i overlooked him!

Alright, will do. i did play a few games against an HS-On Zekrom, and lost them all. This deck really can't beat that.
yeah, no kidding. the only real hope you have is to get a better start than them and steamroll before they can get anything going. it's very unlikely though... there's really not a whole lot you can do to make the match-up favorable unless you change the entire structure of the deck. i did build a much faster version last night though, without feraligatr. let's just say it's my secret weapon and it just might become a great deck if i can work out the kinks. it was actually able to stomp zekrom donk twice out of 5 games. not much, but it's definitely a start..
