Sleeves.

As far as straight Prerelease sleeves go, like has been mentioned several times before, the Lucario sleeves are the way to go.

I've also had some pretty darn good luck with the Professor sleeves. I was very pleasantly surprised by these.

As for non-Pokemon sleeves, my sleeve of choice is the Raven Black by Ultra Pro. I got two packs of these as a prize at a tournament once, and was hooked on the spot.

Japanese sleeves are my favourites for sure, especially the Espeon/Umbreon ones. I used those for Worlds and have used the same ones for all 3 BRs and every League, never had to change a sleeve. Also match my Japanese Espeon/Umbreon deckbox. =D

As far as PR sleeves go, Garchomp SV ones were the worst TBH, also didn't like UD. I really like HGSS actually, I used them for Oregon States and could've used them for Provincials the next week but I switched 'cause I didn't want any problems. RR ones are pretty good as well and LA are my favourite. Didn't like MD ones, only got 56 SF ones, and haven't really used any other PR sleeves.

And the Ultra Pros I usually get here are terrible for me, almost used them for a CC last season, but they split in the couple shuffles I did pre-tournament. I also remember using yellow ones for Nationals two years ago and hated them, and the split pretty soon after just 6 rounds.

I've expressed this multiple times on this forum, but I don't use anything other than pearl white KMCs, as I find they're the best quality of any I've ever had.

While the past few sets of sleeves have been subpar, it's important to remember that you're essentially getting them for free. You're paying $25 for 8 packs ($26 - $30 retail), a promo ($5.00), and sleeves ($5.00). That doesn't mean you shouldn't express your unhappiness with the product, but it's important to put it into perspective.

Good quality sleeves are worth more like 10-15 or at least thats what I've gotten for them I don't where your selling promos at $5 a piece but I want in :)

My only real qualm with this brand [ultra pro] is the white set of sleeves they make - they seem to make two different shades of white.

Quoted For Truth. No "seem" about it either. Two different shades of white, and sleeves of different length.

KMC sells 80 sleeve packs while Ultra Pro sells 50 sleeve packs.

If adding 10 sleeves from one pack to 50 from another - or even 1 to a set of 59 - make sure the sleeves are the same hue, shade, translucency or opacity, and that all of the sleeves are of the same length.

I've mentioned this during BR deck checks, preparing players in our area for harder, more strict, deck checks that will require 60 non reflective, non marked by wear resulting in memorizable sleeve/card, same size and color sleeves as we move to City and higher championships.

Just MHO, but Dragonshield sleeves have gone downhill a bit. Two or three years ago when I started using them they were amazing. Now when I buy them they don't seem to be as thick or as strong as I remember. They are still OK sleeves, but I'm slowly moving away from them and buying other brands now.

Ultra Pro does make a 100-ct pack. Card stores tend to sell the 50s, though, because... well, I don't know.

More $ is made, that's why. If they sold 60-count at $6 instead of 2x 50-counts at $4 each, they would lose money. I hate it, but that's how it works.

i prefer to use the Japanese sleeves over anything else. i would normally use the pre-release sleeves for play testing though.

Just wondering, are there any sleeves that are silver on the inside but like another color on the outside (like the pre-release sleeves). I always felt the silver gave it a more cooler look but honestly, I don't like the Pokemon that are printed on the back :(

BTW, when you guys say matte black, you guys mean like the non-reflective shiny black(kind of like the Ultra-Pro sleeves) right? Just checking :p

HEY!! the UD and MD eeveelution sleeves are some of the best sleeves ive ever used! and the UL legendary dog sleeves got me through nationals! they arent comletly unusable!

I'm smelling some bias in the air. Never mind that, I'm choking on it!

UD Esp/Umb sleeves were h-o-r-r-i-b-l-e, to say the least. They're tied for 2nd worse sleeves with SV Garch sleeves, with Legendary Dog PR sleeves being the worst. I literally sleeved a deck at a tournament, and before round 1 started, I split two shuffling....and I've made KMC's, Ultra Pros, and DragonShields last full seasons.

Does anyone know if the new Celebi sleeves are any good?

So far, I like 'em. I've done a few extensive testing sessions with other players and they've held up pretty nicely.

Too soon to tell yet, but they might be on par with giratina/rotom sleeves.

Hmm...

I'm tempted to bust my Bii sleeves out if they're not falling apart. As a collector, I like the Bii.
