Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

SlimeyGrimey's CaC Contest Round 4 has begun! cards are due March 22!

Dewgong
60 HP
(Water)

Illustration: The magnificence of the Antarctic is seen in the background with, ironically, plenty of morning "dew!" On one Iceberg, floating within the Ocean, is a highly-bloated Dewgong, similar to such gluttons as Chris Farley and Queen Latifa. Dewgong's obesity is actually breaking the very ice around him, whilst he munches heavily on...CHOCOLATE!!! This style is much like Atsuko Nishida's (creator of Misty's Seadra, and Walrein) most playful illustrations.

Stage 1 (Evolves from Seel)
Illustrator-Atsuko Nishida

(((Poke-Power))) Blubber Build

Once your turn (before your attack), you may flip a coin. If heads, increase this Dewgong's max HP by 20. You can't use more than one Blubber Build Poke-power each turn. This power can't be used if Dewgong is affected by a Special Condition.

(WC) Fat Phalanx

During your next turn, Prevent an amount of damage to Dewgong equal to its remaining HP, done from an attack.

(WWWC) Chubby Challenge 30+

This attack does 30 damage plus an amount equal to Dewgong's remaining HP.

Weakness----Metal
Resistence---None
Retreat Cost:-CCCC

Errors?

Grammar errors? I spell and grammar checked mine twice before posting! The only thing that could be screwed up about mine is the wording on the attacks and that's b/c I haven't done this for almost three years. Yeesh...

BTW, is it OK to use parenthesis() as opposed to brackets[]? Another question: Are astericks (*) OKed to be used as symblos for colorless energy requirements? I'd be nice to know if I'm in the next round.
You could also use the { and } symbols. I actually prefer them for Energy symbols, such as {R} and {W}.

Ariados
Stage 1 (G) Pokemon- Evolves From Spinarack
HP: 70

Poke-Body: Poisonous Stingers
Whenever Ariados is your Active Pokemon and is damaged by an opponent's attack, flip a coin. If heads, the Defending Pokemon is poisoned. If tails place 1 damage counter on the Defending Pokemon is Ariados isn't knocked out by the attack.

[C] Homing Needles 10
Flip a coin for each energy attached to the Defending Pokemon. If there are no energy attached to the Defending Pokemon flip a coin. For each heads, place 1 damage counter on each of your opponent's Benched Pokemon. For each tails, place 1 damage counter on each of your Benched Pokemon. If you get at least 2 heads place 1 damage counter on Ariados.

[G] [G] [C] Energy Waster 30+
If there is a special energy card attached to Ariados this attack does 30 damage, plus 30 more damage and flip a coin. If heads, discard a basic energy card attached to the Defending Pokemon. If there isn't a special energy card attached to Ariados discard an energy attached to the Defending Pokemon. Any effects on Ariados that would subtract damage done to the Defending Pokemon from this attack's damage does not apply.

Weakness: [R]
Resistance:
Retreat Cost: [C] [C]

Picture: In a shady ally in what appears to be a very large city (since you can see buildings in the background form the top of the picture) an Ariados stands in the shadows. There are a few grabage cans also in the ally. Most of them are knocked over. A shape is aproaching Ariados in the shadows. Ariados's stingers are glowing purple with a touch of pink.

Okay I have to admit this card may be a BIT on the broke side but before you subtract points from my score let me tell you it is based on a hologram's brokeness. Also Ariados usualy have a Retreat Cost of 1 but I made it 2 since I thought you might think it to broken.

Grammar and text aside... please, don't use the word FIELD. Please, don't go Yugi on us all... it's in play, not on the field.

Not trying to be critical, but that really really bugs me ;)

Gengar
(P) 120 HP
Stage 2 Pokemon - Evolves from Haunter
Weakness: (D)
Resistance: (F)
Retreat Cost: (C)(C)

Poke-Body - Instigator
If Gengar is your active Pokemon and your opponent retreats his or her active Pokemon, place 2 damage counters on that Pokemon.

Between the bars there appears to be a psychic forcefield, coloured bright blue and white. Its eyes are shaped to look very evil. Its body is standing straight up, and it looks ready to attack.

Great, here it is, Kingdra! The Energy useage and Resistances seem strange at first, but when you compare them to the other dragons, they start to make sense.
