Since he is an official representative of a company, he cannot afford to LIE.

However, he can SPIN THE TRUTH! He said that Metagross would not be the World Championship promo. He did NOT say that Metagross ex would not be the World Championship promo.

Pop - drinking Vinegar (at least the one we have here) is not something you would do in common. That person would need a very strong stomage and must like the sour taste very much. It's nasty.

We use the saying when someone speak bitter/condemn (?) in a way about something while that person normal is not negative. Your translation of acting sour is coming most close I think. Also the word sarcasm covers it partly.
We have also a saying "the grapes are sour" but that means something else.

Dave might of not lied from his point of view with knowing what he knows about PUI future plans compaired to what us players know.

From what I have heard there is some type of "Trophy" card, but it is not for the staff at Worlds, I do know that.

I didn't say it was. I said the trophy cards go to the champs only.

I also suspect that those trophy cards will be made in Japan by the parent company, just like they made the TMB-exclusive cards. I'm guessing it was a decision made in Japan to award trophy cards. JMO.

but I don't see why it wouldn't be

and that is what I would guess "trophy" cards are
they only go to the winners
 
So the World Championship promo is - Tropical Wind trainer...

BTW, the trophy cards are very unique and entitle the 1st, 2nd & 3rd place winners (not the bearer) to return for next year's event! I doubt they'll be trading those off for anything!!!!
 
Oke I will try to post a picture of the Worlds promocard.
There are several versions.
promoset

You have the 7 card set with the gold Worlds 04 print on it.
Than there is a normal promocard without the gold print
And last there is one with Staff printed on it.

Semi Finalist
Finalist

all just different stamps on the cards

I thought it was really cool for PUI to have the same cards of these and the Staff stamped ones they gave out. :D Something I really didnt expect, but just went and showed me that they are working hard to make the game even better with ideas like this.
