Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

States and rogues

The only thing that really works against G&G is G&G itself!

I would totally agree with that line if I was an uneducated moron who didn't understand that magmortar is the BDIF until someone builds something that can beat it. Honestly, have half of the Gallade fanboys on this board even sat down and played numerous games against a decent mag list? Also, one quick question. Did Gallade get ANYTHING out of the new set? As far as I know the answer to that is a big fat NO whereas Mag got a HUGE push giving it an even bigger edge on Gallade than what it had before.

I'm happy that people like Jimmy are a part of this game as they provide new energy and just force people to think about what decks to play. States are gonna be fun!

well if I spelt it wrong then oh well ... I'm just here to talk about decks and ideas..this isn't English class and aren't mods supposed to deal with spelling errors anyways

Oh yeah.
That's what we want mods spending their time on, scouring the posts, looking for every misspelling and fixing each and every one....

Tip: If you don't care enough about what you say to say it right, why should anyone else?

A typo is one thing, but constantly spelling one word as another, real word leads people to give less weight to what you say.

If that's the effect you're going for, go for it.

Okay so playing Magmortar and GG does take SOME skill,
I mean sure if you handed a total newb a Gardevoir deck and said PLAY they probably wouldn't understand what a chime engine is for, or why Absol is a good starter, and they'd probably stick energies on things that were dying and stuff like that.
But any reasonably intelligent player who has been playing Pokemon for atleast as long as I have (1 year) could play it. And that's a fact, me and my boyfriend (phoenixback4fire) have been testing a lot of decks and he can play GG flawlessly, and so can I. :\
As for Magsol, I played Magmortar before in tournaments when it first came out and it hadn't caught on (because I had orginally been playing the SW Magmortar). And I could do it.

Sure if you gave everyone in a room a GG deck, and told them to play against eachother, THEN it would come down to sheer skill because everyone would have the same deck. That's pretty much the only time when skill would be important.

GAG didn't get cresslia or palkia? Must've missed that one....

Ok, I'll apologize for the poor wording of my earlier statement. What I meant was "Did Gallade get anything decent out of the new set?" Palk and Cress just aren't worth the spaces that they consume

idk, auto-gust for a prize on a support poke or lock-down doesn't sound bad. Not to mention auto-counter stadium and discards beach for the same attack.

I cant remember what remember which rounds of tourneys it was but there was a time when LBS was unbeatable, it was taking 1st 2nd and 3rd at tourneys. i wanna say it was states or gym challenegs 2 years ago, anyway it took months before people finally figured out how and what to do against it.
but the point is every deck has a weakness. you just need to build a deck that gives you options.

LBS didn't come around till states, and it didn't win every regional.
The regional I used it in when I was still a senior, I got 3rd place. Albiet it was my 2nd year playing, I admit I was good. BUT IT DIDN'T WIN. I lost to medicham ex in the T4, and might have lost in the T2 if I had made it to dustox ex/muk LM. it WAS beatable. Heck, dark slowking won masters that tourney, it was an open field. LBS was never "unbeatable". It was tough to beat, but not some invincible deck like we are teaching the new kids that play.

This is old news folks. I remember posting a thread a while back, before GE came out that pretty much said what people are saying now. Looks like GE didn't do anything other than enhance the already popular decks. What a shocker.

and what happens when the poke i gust up is completely useless and you can't get out of it without teleporting? Then, when you teleport you have to either sac your gardy's energy or simply bring down for the prize. Now I will say that having the palkia is FAR more useful than having the Cress but I just don't think that it's worth it in the long run/

How does that become a GOW? The opponent still gets to pick, unless you're saying you'll attach a P to Gardy and then Psychic Lock to kill

Let me say this, I started playing this game on Dec. 2, 2007. My first game was at the Greensboro, NC CC, I played Brian Leary in my First game EVER, and lost to Quickitune!!!. I was using a noob Typhloshion D deck, that was HORRIBLE!!!. I went 0-4 that day, and only wanted to watch how the game was played that day, but learned a very valuable lesson. If you want to be good or GREAT, you have got to really study the main Archtypes, who at that time were G&G, Blisscatty, and Absol Variants. But, ever since that day I have tried and failed to build something Different! Weither it won or lost, I always spent time running decks and tunning decks just tocounter the "Big Boys" and their Archetypes!!! We all want to be good, I understand, but to win with a Rogue and to win with a Archetype, is Completely different. I am not a Great player, by no means, but for only playing a little over 2 months, I have learned quite a bit about this game. If more people would focus MORE on being known for a Awesome Rogue, than winning the EAISER way, they would feel more joy and determination than by using "Company" decks or "Cookie Cutters". I am just saying true passion really comes from building something that others would say is Impossible, and making it happen. You gain more respect from others and for yourself. If a Rogue Deck does pull an Upset, whoever it maybe, and win States, Nationals, or EVEN Worlds, That person is going to be a very dedicated and passionate Pokemon TCG Player, who put in a Great deal of time and THOUGHT into it, unlike others. GOOD LUCK to everyone!!!:thumb:

it doesn't matter what pokemon your opponent gusts up, you just telepass the gardy x and retreat to send up anyone you want, including the one that was active before (aka gallade)

I know about teleportation, but what does WP and Psy have to do with Palkia being in the deck
