Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Swapping cards at prereleases.

Got to use the feedback area on your "my pokemon account" or else OP may never know there is a problem with this venue or the person(s) running it. Likewise, use the feedback if it was a well run and fun tourney!

Just for insight, it is wrong to trade unopened packs for other unopened packs (from other PR players) at the PR before it is time to open them up?

I would hate to get cards passed down from some kid who recklessly opens packs, destroying the cards' value in the process. Oh look, I got a Tyranitar ex with bite marks on it!!

Man, the kids over here have no care whatsoever.
You see their decks?
Unsleeved, looking like Base set massacre.
They've been spat on, written on, bent, scuffed, scratched, folded, and yes, bitten.
Another reason why I can see swapping cards a VERY bad thing.

Matt: I dont think there is a problem with that. I know that some PTOs (at least in the past) has opened up a box or so of product, put them in a pillowcase, box etc and then drew out 6 packs at random for PRs. No requirement that they are 6 packs in a row from the box. (As far as I know at this time!)

I think what Prime meant in his question is when you're given your packs, before you open them, are you allowed to trade the unopened packs with someone else before they're opened. I would assume that at a Prerelease, since there's no trading until after the event, you should keep the packs and cards you were given and not trade them, even if they've not been opened, until after the event is over.

And as far as the pack swapping for the format goes, it may be acceptable to do it that way at an event, but it just doesn't seem right to me to announce it half way through opening the packs. It seems like that should be something people are notified of ahead of time, so they can decide if that's the event format they want to participate in. It just seems like taking away the fun spirit of a Prerelease atmosphere in my opinion. The opening of the packs for most is the fun part!

I know some kids just want to have 4 packs with the different art. And as far as that goes, then fine. I wouldn't say that you could though, as little kids could become confused that they could trade the cards as well.

Although there is nothing wrong with it(unless you used a jeweler's scale), it just is another hassle to deal with if a problem arises. And we all know if something can go wrong, it will. :p

This was a big, BIG joke, as well as scare, if our pre was gonna swap cards.
It took Chrisbo a lot of reassuring.
Super hype.
