Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Turn 2 Arcanine ex (Finally Deoxys-on!)

alright guys. i am sure mukman has realized his mistake by now. three people telling him hes wrong is enough.

I cant believe all of the combos that there with Arcanine EX. I personally dont think it is that great of a card. But yeah, whatever works for you. :thumb:

umbreon, yeah this card is good. You just discard react or Holons most of the time.

I like the 4-1 since if I play a a second solrock, I will always start with solrock. You can alter the list a little depending how lucky you are, or your style. I personally dont like the Lapras, but I still understand that it is a good set up card.

This list is not optimal, ya they have issues keeping Blastoise ex out when you shut them down by T2-T3 and they can't search for ANYTHING. You hit Squirtle/Wartortle/Blastoise whatever it is for 20 twice while torching Jirachis, Stone it once and reversal it up. Most games they won't even get it up. Magnechu is right.

I doubt this list would be any better than 60/40 vs bls though. A good list would be more like 70/30, 75/25 like Mikey mentioned.

Yep. I cleaned up the extra swats, along with some one-line ratings (cheers and 'loses to' stuff). In addition to being 'nice' please be 'substantial' in your replies... thanks!

I've seen an RK9 deck that Scizor helped craft used by a skilled player at "Sierra Nevada" regionals. It went top 8 against a heavy-hitting field. I have to say, as I mentioned to Pain before promoting this thread, that Lapras was a controversial play. I think 2nd Solrock is much more stable.

A note on front page deck articles. Not all are destined for the Archetype section. Some are just well-done write-ups that should be interesting. Others start as 'rogue', but might make it to Archetype status some day. Freddy K.'s Scooby Doo is a good example. Time will tell for RK9. So, stay flexible on how you view the articles. In general, we'd like people who have played a strong deck to success at a major tourney to write Archetype articles. But, we're open to other folks writing up strong decks, if tourney top cut authors don't step up. We're also open to interesting 'off-beat' decks and updates on archetypes by other than the original authors (if sufficiently new and improved).

They really shouldn't even be playing Dustox as it's not very good in its own. It's not worth taking out consistancy for, and most of those Dustox actually run Kingdra, so the FRLG RK9 isn't going to do enough. You just have to take the loss and try and get lucky. Hit some flips, attack with Girfarig, flip the table, whatever you have to do. RK9 has so many other strong matchups, you can't change your deck to deal with another that's relatively unpopular.

You forgot the shades/staredown tactic

I just played this at the southeast Regional. I went 4-2 here is what I played.

Round 1: Burn Deck w/ Ninetales tech. Win

Round 2: LBS. Lost

Round 3: Poli-Stall. Lost

Round 4: LBS. Won

Round 5: PowdaCham. Won

Round 6: Huntail/Delcatty/Machamp. Won

I got 19th when they cut to a top 16.

Sorry Johnny, I guess things like that just happen sometimes. Do you think you would have done better with ER2?
