Dialga & Palkia LEGEND creates a very difficult problem if it is allowed to add more than the 6 original prize cards. How would Mismagius GL's "Grudge" attack work exactly?

There would be no determinable way for an onlooking Judge to determine the number of prize cards taken, creating a game state impossible to discern. One player could easily claim that his opponent took more prizes than they truly did. Would Mismagius GL have to be errata'd to do 20+10[(total prizes taken over the course of the game)-(prizes added over the course of the game)], so that the original 6 prizes kept the integrity of the attack and game state?
In that formula, prizes on the board for the opponent at 6 or over still count as zero as they currently would, and the visual prizes remaining would mean the same damage would be done had only 6 prizes remained in play over the course of gameplay (i.e., if you see 5 in play, they would add 10 damage, whether they had taken one prize or twenty).

This is all up for speculation until confirmation, of course.

I would change the ruling so that it said 20+10 for each missing prize card.

Sorry, that was worded quite badly, but hopefully you guys understand what I meant.

THat being said, I hope they cap prizes at 6, because being allowed to go over is literally broken.

The thing with Rhyperior is that he is a one-time use. He has no useful attack to contribute, has a big fat retreat cost and is a stage 2 attack-less benchsitter that requires a LOT of dedicated deck space to keep milling. Then Power Spray hit the scene.
Kyogre/Groudon however only REQUIRES 4 deck slots, the rest is to be filled in however you want it. I myself see options with Feraligatr. Should Jumpluff decline even further, then this might be a rather powerful play.

  • Kyogre/Groudon is a LEGEND card, making it fairly difficult to play off the bat, and requiring some extra support.
  • It has one terrible weakness, and one fairly bad weakness.
  • Its Retreat Cost is high enough to warrant an opponent being able to drag an uncharged one Active somehow and snipe around it.
  • It needs AT LEAST 3 turns to set up, and this is assuming you get the DCE in time in a Claydol-less format. Kyogre LA could speed the process here, but this is also assuming you get the right Energy combination early on.
  • Feraligatr seems unviable on the grounds that using a Stage 2 to set up a Basic hasn't really worked for all the other decks that have tried it. This is even less consistent in a Claydol-less format, again.
  • Obligatory Machamp SF comment. This is particularly nasty, since KGL gives up two Prizes and has such a hard time recovering from a KO.

I'm just pointing out that KGL has its flaws, too. It actually has its own flaws, then it shares some of the same flaws with most mill decks in that they're generally bulky, clunky to use, and don't have much of a strategy outside milling. To be completely honest, I actually like KGL and think that the pros outweigh the cons. I just consider the main focus to be the spread damage, with the milling being a bonus.

Why not consider *both* as a main strategy? If you can mill a couple Conspiracy and a Uxie, why not take the damage hit in exchange for hitting their speed? Conversely, if you can mill off 5 energy (OHKOs virtually everything), why in the world WOULDN'T you? I don't see Chatot being particularly necessary in the deck. I'd rather use a Starter like Jirachi and Detour my way into something using all the uncapped draw cards currently in the format (Visit, Engineer, Cheerleader, Emcee). If they decide to KO the Jirachi, it makes my job even easier as I can just search the Box and hit my Legend off that given my now depleted deck. And getting the 4 energy into play isn't particularly difficult either, as long as you play a reasonable amount (say, 9 Water, 4 Call) and you're running G8r as backup (this works, surprisingly). Not to mention that, once you're done spreading, G8r makes a fine attacker after a buncha spreads.

I'm actually kinda excited about KGL, and I'm interested to see whether or not it could actually work.

Legend box may be the gamechanger. But as of now Legends have been usless as a main attacker. ERL works as a tech. But the rest so far -forget about it

I don't think any of the new legends are going to make that big of an impact. Both Rayquaza/Deoxys and Kyogre/Groudon need too many energies to be effective, and I'll be shocked if Dialga/Palkia is not ruled with a 6 prize cap limit. There are only three reasons I see Entei/Raikou working:

1- only two energy attack costs, masking it relatively easy to get out.

2-Free retreat, so you can get it out of the active when you are done using it.

3-The amount of powers played in the current format.

I Don't think it is very possible to make a whole deck out of just one of the legends, due to only being able to play two of them, and without the help of the SP engine, especially Aaron's and E-gain. These make it a lot easier to get out another one after being KOed, and the Legends don't have that. Legend Box seems to luck-reliant to me, and I doubt it will make a big impact on the format, just because of the unlikeliness of hitting both Legend halves and a bunch of energy. remember, if you thin your deck a lot, you are going to take out some of the legend pieces, and a bunch of the crucial energy cards.

Well as far as DPL being garbage, I tend to think it won't be. However if there is a prize cap, I do think it will be a waste of a legend (assuming that you couldn't go higher then a max of 6 prizes) So far as Sabett, let him rant and say what he wants (elitest or not) he's entitled to his opinion. They are like.....well you know what they are like and everyone has one. So to re-cap, DPL broken if built right and no prize max. If there's a prize max of 6, he is garbage, nuff said.

KGL will get a boost when you can use hunter with uxie drops. Getting the Feraligatr prime out, lay down energy and hopefully drawing into some legend boxes. If you want to go even further, get Jirachi from RR and use hunter again. The only draw back to that is power spray, Gengar, and Crobat's flashbite. Well at least as far as Jirachi's final wish power is concerned. Otherwise getting the 30 damage + onto the bench is just a bonus for milling 5. Hunter is going to be a freakin' great to broken card in the game though.

Final Wish gets through Spray b/c it happens on your opponent's turn.
