Clay: I have a lot of the local judges and adults who come to tournaments come to me asking for help with their son or daughter's deck, and I always give them honest advice. I don't live in an area with organized local tournaments currently, but before I went off to college I regularly helped many 10- and 11-14 kids with their decks. Seena was one of them
I get IMed and PMed with so many lists per week that it would blow your mind. Perhaps that's why I'm not on the decks forum so much, because I'm independantly fixing so many decks. I've also done two archetype articles and will probably do more after Worlds. If you or your daughter is in need of some help, I'll be sure to fix up any deck; just send me a line.
Mom: What Lafonte has that the Gym doesn't is a bunch of members who have been banned from these boards. Additionally, we can "let our hair down" more there than we can here. What the Gym has to offer that Lafonte does not is a place where we can voice our opinions about major game issues and discuss things with POP directly. Additionally it is a great place for news, information, random discussion, and a great place to meet new Pokemon people.
Why do people with "dual citizenship" view themselves as being from Lafonte? Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that we own and mod the boards, and also vote in all the members. On Lafonte we are all voting members of the board and the major decisions that occur there. On the Pokegym it feels, to me anyways, that we are guests on TC's boards. It doesn't feel necessarily like "home" as much as Lafonte does. Compounded with the fact that probably half the people who DO have "dual citizenship" have been banned at some point or another from here adds to the fact that we feel alienated and don't view it as "our" board as much as just being visitors.
Don't get me wrong, I love and have loved the gym for years, but it no longer feels like "home" to me as much as it used to under Tyais' control. I'm only speaking for myself, however.
