Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Iron Chef Questions, Concerns, etc

how do you know if you made it past the first round?

Every player is GUARANTEED a chance to compete in the second round =).

The first and second round scores will determine who goes on to the third round (top 64).

I am in POD 8 (Cradily) and I have submitted my article and I have a few concerns. The top 8 scores were 16, 16, 15, 15, 15, 14, 14, and 13 (an 11-way tie for 8th). Here are my questions...

I know that the top 64 hasn't happened yet but, if this were the result for the 2nd round, what would happen (the person who sent 1st?)

Has the theme for round 2 started?

Since CharChar has dropped does that mean my POD only has 31 competitors?

Who currently is in 8th place in my POD?

RE Vaporeon: no, only one entry a round.

-I'd figure something out.
-Nope, it hasn't. I will be announcing pods 1-4 soon.
-Yes, it does.
-8th is an 11 way tie.

The whole point of a second round, beyond giving you all a chance to compete more than once, is to assure that there are few, if any, ties.

If there are 5 people with a score of 15/20 and over, and 7 people with a score of 14/20, which 3 of the 7 14/20's make it through?

please don't suggest anything misleading, although I appreciate the response.

Please, Cyrus has answered this question like 5 times already. He'll deal with tiebreaks when they happen, not before.

I would love to see the decklists which had a 5/5 score on creativity.
I am confused what makes a deck more creative while focusing on a specific card.

Published Lists

I thought that one of the goals of the contest was to learn from others deck building efforts. With that in mind, do you plan to publish any of contest's lists?

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Now that the scores for round 1 are in, do you have any problem with posting your entry on the deck help forum?

How about including your score with the post?

Other than the lists that I'm going to post, the only way that you will have access to those lists is if you request them from the people who earned them.

Is it an explicit goal? No. Is it an implicit goal? Yes. I fully intend to post one of the top 2-3 entries from each pod in a non-stickied thread.

Nope! Go for it!

OBSERVATION:

X/10: your deck list score
X/5: your creativity score
X/5: your card use score
X/20: your overall score

So.. creativity doesn't really amount to much.

That was my focus last round because cyrus suggested that we avoid using well-know combos and archetypal cards.

So, I COMPLETELY abandoned the OBVIOUS and tried to be creative.

4/5 for creativity... bombed for DECK LIST .. which probably suffered because I couldn't use the OBVIOUS combos that would enable the cards attacks... *sigh*

there .. i vented.

There's a difference between using the obvious and using the functional, rogue archetype.

It is not "rogue" to play an inconsistent deck list. Rather, list quality is a very technical thing, with regard to consistency and superior choice-making.
