Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Iron Chef Questions, Concerns, etc

Cyrus,

Will decklists and explanation article be posted along with scores? Just wondering so I can tailor how I write up each decklist. Again, love this contest and can't wait for it to start up again.

Cardz,

I will not be doing (or posting) any write-ups for the first round. If you are particularly confused about why you got the score you did, you are free to PM me about it.

Can i resubmit a decklist if i want to make a change or is it that once you send in a decklist then you are done with whatever you first submitted?

Example:

On friday you give us our challenge (monday at midnight is the deadline). So on saturday i submit my decklist. Sunday comes and i feel like i need to change my decklist a little bit.

You say the first format is DP-On, but im left wondering, where does DP-On cut off? Are we DP-LA, DP-IFDS, DP-Whatever awesome set comes out on Pokebeach in time?

Oh My!!

You could REALLY be opening Pandora's box for cry babies there dude...

Here's a generic cut-and-paste reasong for you Cyrus:

"By entering yourself in the contest, you've agreed to ACCEPT all judgments however they are made."

Good Luck w/ this man.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

I SECOND this quetion!

I REALLY think we should be building w/ cards that are CURRENT FORMAT LEGAL because this is how we make the experience useful for BR and Premier tournament preparation. if not, then it's kind of a waste of time creating combos that we can NEVER apply practically to the game.

^ I'd use common sense and say the format is DP-LA. Only sets that have cards legal for English play will count.

Of course, we'll go with what Cyrus decides, but that would be the most logical choice...

RE Rogue Archetype

Concern #1: I am not opening up Pandora's Box, because a "no write-ups" format has been tested before. When I ran the Iron Chef Grinder two years ago, that whole contest featured write-ups only for the top few competitors, and back when HYPER EEVEE ran it, he _never_ did write-ups.

In other words, write-ups are not a requirement! You are right to assume that my say is final; however, I will grade it fairly and to the best of my ability.

I DO think that it's fair to explain to people who feel particularly shafted (and are concerned enough to spend time out of their lives to PM me) why they got what they got, and that's why I am keeping this option open to those that seek it.

Concern #2: Lol...Yeah, Sandslash pretty much summed it up. But to be perfectly clear, this is official Pokemon Organized Play DP-LA for the first (and second) rounds.

Any answer to this question??

Im concerned about the Pod working on Foretress decks. There are a few unmade rulings regarding that card, most notibly Blastoise SW.

I am quite certain that if you attach 2 or more energies to Foretress, it will only count towards one flip, just like if you attached one.

This is assumed based on the dawn stadium ruling, which like Foretress, if you attach 3 water energies to a Piplup with 40 damage, you only get to heal 10. This is because you are attaching the energies in a group, or 'together'. When the card says once during your turn, rather than for each energy you attach etc. This is also similar to a Gastrodon ruling where you can move 3 damage counters to the other Gastrodon even if it has only 20 HP left, since you are moving it as 'one'.

You can still attach normally for a flip.
Remember if you have three Foretress out, this means you can still attach a water energy to each one with Blasotise's power, to get three flips, you just can't get flips by attaching to one Foretress.

So, if I have a Blastoise out, and three Foretress, and 10 energies in my hand, I can attach normally, then use Blastoises pwoer for a total of four flips. So if you can get this set up consistantly, Blastoise may still be a considerable theme to use.

This is by no means official, but I am quite confident on this ruling.

Its Speculation until an official ruling is made. Theres also the question of if Blastoise sets off the effect at all or not, as Blastoise immidiatly ends your turn.

I was about to update one of my topics regarding that, but as of right now, I will make a personal ruling that Blastoise does "not" activate Forretress more than once, based on Pelipper/Dawn Stadium.
