Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Worlds Championship decks

The only serious name I put down was RayBees. I figured they'd take it, but I guess not.

1) RayBees
2) LuxDrill
3) Silvestdrill
4) Daddy. Domination

The name I would've picked for Gengar was "Ghosts Never Die"
Super Mario 64 reference and it's partially true when you have Pokemon Rescue....

I just want to know the deck lists of any of the decks, can anyone provide them?

They didn't print takutos deck because him and the junior winner along with koujiro all had the same deck with one or two card differences. They were all team japan members so it wouldn't make sense to print two.

Seriously whoever picked the decks is dumb

I think Sami should have gotten his deck published over Cohen but more importantly Takuto should have gotten his deck published way, way more than the junior. If they woulda printed takuto's deck, I would have bought it just because it is takuto. Now there is not a single deck on there that I would think of purchasing

Seriously, who ever created these crazy names should not even play Pokemon ever again. For example, Luxdrill?!? It should be called RayBee's for peeps sake. Once again, why QueenGar instead of Mother Gengar. Everyone was getting used to the name Mother Gengar and everyone likes that name better. Obviously, some players don't keep up with the Pokegym site. Next time, the judges should ask one of the older players that go on the Pokegym site all the time to name their decks, so players won't get confused by the deck names.

Pokegym is not an official site, so there's nothing wrong with not visiting it.

Because ":colorless is lame and there's Machamp and Mewtwo in the deck."

Wait a second... Do you really think that, who can archieve juniors second place at worlds is playing with crappy deck? 4th Junior place finnish player was playing with perfect (versus meta-game) LuxApe list and didn't made ANY mistakes in tournament and he didn't even won worlds with that play... So think again, when laming juniors  (Don't lame my english skills!)
I don't say Juniors don't play good or don't have good decks. There are a lot of Seniors and Juniors who I respect and who I expect to beat me. However, if they had exactly the same niveau as masters, there would be no reason to divide a tournament into age groups.

At all, there is no reason to choose a Juniors deck over a Seniors or Masters deck. Takuto is one year older than Juniors players, he's a child in the same way as the Junior Champion is, but has beaten 15 year old National Champions.

Hm... and ok, since Steve called his deck Raybees, I don't know why they didn't take that name. =(

They print the colors of the basic energy in the deck. That's :fighting: and :psychic: in Flygon.

Who does Pokemon market itself to? (answer: THE KIDS!!!)

How would it suit their stated market base by ignoring THE KIDS in favor of the older players?

KIDS like buying stuff that other KIDS made successful.

I have little doubt that, every single year, the 1st place Junior deck will always be printed. PCI skews itself towards the Junior division on purpose. (hasn't this always been the case?)

Maybe the "Stall" part of the title is not meant to be "Stall" as in "Playing Slowly". I think of it in terms of this deck as to "Stall" as in being stuck, unable to go anywhere. Like when your car stalls in the middle of the road and you are stuck there until you can get started again. Just a thought. Congrats to everyone who had their deck printed even with the lame names.

I didn't think they would name it Raybees, heh. Doesn't sound like something that a Mother would want to buy for her child.

I coined (as far as I know) the name DeckGon for Flygon which I really like. That's what I've been calling Flygon Deckout for a while.

Looking at the game itself - yes. Looking at the Organized Play - not everywhere. Here in Germany we have a very strong Seniors and Juniors division at Nationals (similar numbers in all three age division, that's something you get nowhere else in the World iirc - Amigo ftw xD), but in the US there were about four times more Masters.

The Seniors Champion is a kid as well and made an even more outstanding performance. Why don't print his deck? Don't kids like to buy stuff that other Kids made successfull even against older players?

It's like they only look at the age division but not at the actual age. Imho there's a lot difference between a 11 year old and a 15 year old than between a 10 year old and an eleven year old.

Congrats to Tsubasa Nakamura. He was a beast grinding in and then going undefeated in the main event. Yes his Luxbox deck is similar theme to Takuto's deck but it is a unique build (as a junior his list didn't seem to get much attention but I found it on the Japan POP site and it is a nice build).

Not going to take a stand on the Junior vs. Senior vs. Master debate and who is "more worthy" of publishing. But I think that debate shouldn't take away from Tsubasa's accomplishment. Each winner was worthy in their own right.
