Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

“Dirty Decks Done Dirt Cheap” –afstandopleren Wins! Cyrus 2nd Check Out Their Decks

Well, if we can replace or modify our decks before the finals, I think it would only be fair to see the decks of ALL of the competitors in the finals, so we can tweak our decks according to what they are playing. That way, everyone is on equal playing field. (so you'd have to reveal Pandamom's deck, and reveal the top 2 of each pod when they are announced)

Sandslash, you are absolutely correct! I've added Pandamom's deck list to the Pod 1 results post above.

This is a very unique, fun contest. thanks for having it. i'm a little anxious to see how mine does (hope it goes to someone who is flip lucky!)... i can't wait to see all the results and what everyone submitted for their budget decks!

are you going to post all the lists once it is all said and done, btw?

i can´t take part at the tournament because i´m from austria and have not enough money to travel to it
so i have got a good fun deck which is very cheap for those who can´t make a very cheap deck:

4-4 octillery (pt1)
2 pachirisu (ge)
4 super scoop up
4 poke ball
3 lookers investigation
1 luxury ball
1 pokemon contest hall
4 cyclone energy
4 warp energy
28 water energy

the price of the deck is 24.80

the 4 uxie alone are $80 for the purposes of this contest.

also, there is no travel involved in this tournament. you make a list for a cheap deck and submit it to WWNN. then he has people who are local for him who play the decks in a tournament setting, but the contest is closed as there were only 32 spots to begin with which filled up quickly. i'm pretty sure he is already thinking of running another and you could always try again then :)

We had every intention of trying to get a pod off last weekend. However, vactions happened and two of the players who would have built decks for me went on vacation. Talk about misplaced priorities! I can get about 5 decks together from my personal collection but then it gets a bit thin. I have every expectation on being back in business this week-end.

I am also looking into farmimg out a pod and might be able to do two in one weekend.

On a seperate note, I now think that basic dark and basic metal were under priced at free. They are more difficult to obtain than other basic energy. To an extent, this defeats the purpose of the price limit. I will not change the price for this contest, but would expect to do so in the future.

Agreed WWNN. Conversely, I feel that $1.00 was too much for special Metals and Darks, since they've been reprinted so many times.

Well, he did say, "If something is undervalued and you can find it, exploit it." I hope people took advantage of the possibility.

POD 2 Complete and the winner is.....ragingphantom with his Infernape Deck.

More details to follow but I don't have my notes available at the moment. Congragulations ragingphantom.

Wow dang it actually worked. I didn't know that it could actually do something. (underground expedition FTW).
Though if I had chatot MD in the list then I would've gotten auto-wins...lol.

1 Luxury Ball (0.50)
4 Bebe's Search (2.00)

2 Life Herb (0.50)
1 Pokedex Handy910is (0.70)

24 (14.00)

Energy
16 Grass Energy

16 (Free)

The strategy is to get out as many beedrills as possible and use Band Attack to do damage. Pretty much everything in here is for searching/drawing. Zangoose is good disruption, and can be an attacker in a pinch. Unown R is draw, RR Beedrill is search, GE Beedrill is main attacker. :]

P_A has graciously voluntered to host one of the pods and we are trying to get one together here. It is possible that we could be down to our finialists this weekend.

That's a great looking Infernape deck, ragingphantom! I wish I had been there this past weekend to play it or play against it.

I'm definitely looking forward to pod 3/4 this weekend.
