I've been playing a proxied tangrowth and it's working nice so I'm excited for that. The gengar deck is getting an upgrade via lvl X and that card makes a kool tech for lvl X based decks (blazeray). Delcatty salamance deck seems very promising. Charizard deck could be sweet. And those and all preceding them are made better with expert belt, and there's even a slight possibility of a eeveelutions esqu deck via arceus..... I'm content.

I love the new charizard and yes the arceus's make my head hurt also. Not a playable one in the bunch :nonono:

I am impressed yet not surprised by the set and how its a 50/50 mix of playable/unplayable cards
 
The dark and normal type Arceus are decent...
I for one, LOVE this set and to let everyone know, the prof running my PR today said each box had one of each Arceus in each box, I can ocnfirm that considering the pulls.

Pulled 4 Arceus in 8 packs...
 
Neo Discovery bad? Tyranitar (Trample), Unown D, Igglybuff, and (one of my favorites) Forretress (Spikes!) were pretty decent. And Unown [A] plus Rainbow Energy = "Lilypad Mew" killer. I disliked Neo Revelation a lot more.

But I think we'll see some of these cards get play. And some have yet to see their full potential emerge until other sets come out.
 
I really doubt Rapidash will hurt SP that much, it's just a worse Mewtwo Lv X. Spiritomb will hurt them alot more IMO.
 
Just looking at this set, I saw a new deck idea that I think will work rather nicely. I don't want to throw my idea out there yet, because I still need to figure out Pokemon/Trainer/Supporter/Stadium/Energy balance. I'm just disappointed that the card I want to main has no Lv. X nor will ever due to the D/P/Plt block ending after this set; unless of course Leafeon vs Metagross becomes our filler set before HGSS. I also look forward to getting a Gengar Lv. X, who I expect is going to make Gengar even a greater threat to contend with.
 
Although Rapidash does not have as good of a body as Mewtwo, Ponyta has ascension, which means you can put Rapidash into a a deck without having to run cards to get it out. I think it'll be good.

I like the Sceptile, maybe with Leafeon?
The Sharpshooting Gengar isn't bad for getting around guarded Claydols.
I wanna try TankGrowth because it has a fairly okay Gengar Matchup.

Also, Probopass is a boss in sealed/draft.

Depends on my midterms. Friday night I had an essay to turn in on the internet, so I wasn't going to spend time rushing to edit scans and work on an essay at the same time. Thursday night was more free.
 
A month after Cities are over, nobody is going to be talking about 95% of this set. This set isn't any better than SV.

I have to disagree.

SV had Absol(Fun), Blaziken, Garchomp, Metagross(Gengar Tech) and generously, Honchkrow and Exploud. It also had Chomp C X, which is amazing, and VS Seeker and Palmer's see plenty of play.

Arcues has...Salamence, possibly Luxray, possibly Gengar (Not X), Spiritomb, Buffer Piece and Expert Belt.

Spiritomb will be a starter or Chatot type card, Buffer and Expert are tools, Gengar and Salamence will be seen probably as 1 ofs, because their SF incarnations are much much better, and Luxray...idk.

Just came back form a PR, everyone got at least 1 Arceus in their initial 6 packs, unfortunately, they are only fun for PRs.
 
Speaking of which, I played 2 Beedrill G's and 38 grass energy, if that isn't saying "I don't care" besides SoD I don't what to say...
 
Is this the first set to have two sub-sets? (SH = shinies and AR = Arceus sub-set)

Not that it matters much, just wondering...
 
I noticed the the Movie Promos from Japan weren't included in this set. Due to the later release of the Arceus movie stateside no doubt. Does this mean they will be included with the first Legend set? Or a separate promo series themselves?
 
Scans are up in the Tower on the Gym now. If someone has SH11, that's the only one we're missing. Check the FAQ on contributing set scans and upload... it would be most welcome.
