Magnezone Lv X is a fairly neat card if you can get it into play. 140 HP is very nice, x2 Weakness to Fire is bad if Magleaf picks up, -20 Resistance to Psychic would have been better last season, and 4 Energy for a Retreat Cost is...horrible. Its Poke-Power, Electric Trans, is the main reason you'll want him in play; it lets you freely move around your Lightning and Metal energies in play, letting you power up any Pokemon you have. Cyber Shock is also a decent attack for 1 Lightning and 1 Metal energy; you have to discard both to use, but it deals a solid 80 damage and automatically paralyzes the opponent. This is something to consider, as there are so few things that will automatically paralyze something, and with some Electivire SW and Heatran (Metal type) hanging around. this could be something to do if you like attacking with him.

Modified - 7/10 (I think it has potential, but as with any Stage 2 Lv X, getting one out is a pain and costs deck space)
Limited - 0/10 (No Magnemite/Ton/Zone in LA, so unless you're doing a multi-drafting thing that has sets with those card in it [or mutant], stick him in the binder to keep him safe)
Unlimited - 2/10 (Doubtful you could get him out, but he is pretty cool if you do)

One of the deepest cards I have ever seen in my life. The possibilities are endless. While many focus on Cyber Shock's auto paralyze, I view it as nothing more than an added bonus next to Electric Trans. I will use the attack, but in my deck, it is needed sparingly. There are so many great cards that can utilize the freedom of moving the metals and lightning energies around that it would realistically take months to justifiably attempt every possible combination. You can combine this with one or two specific pokemon and aim for a specific strategy, or you can tech out any number of metal or lightning (or on a lesser note, colorless) pokemon and prepare yourself for anything. The possibilities are simply endless. You can't only consider this card when you are considering a Magnezone deck either. There are several different Magnezones that can go underneath it, each of them catering to a specific strategy that can be augmented by the presence of Magnezone Lv.X. When you play against this card, you can't even pretend to know what to expect, because it could be almost anything. 10/10.

............. you know, there are some problems with the deck. Realistically, you can know to expect that you will see magnezone, zone x, claydol, and a lightning pokemon line. Maybe a tech or some starter too.

Zone X decks are really fun to play and they can be really interesting since there is a good deal of variety in them. The main problem Magnezone faces is that it is relatively slow to get going, but once it gets going it is really hard to stop. This should be alleviated after Stormfront if we get the magnetic search magnezone. Special metals make this thing a pain to kill.

8.5/10 since he is slow to get going and is weak to fire which will see a lot of play in MagLeaf.

this card's full potential has not begun to make itself known to me. it beat on me pretty badly in a match the other night, easily paralyzing me whenever necessary, and never running short of enough energy to do so again and again.

the weakness is a bit harsh (but then all the lvl x have old-school weakness x2), as magmortar is still a beast. the retreat cost means that it's not going anywhere without the aid of a another card (especially when discarding 2 cards a turn to paralyze).

the resistance is still pertinent & helpful.

modified: 8/10. i want to see it played more.

READ THE MAGNEZONE (DP) CARD! If you're not playing with any metal energies then yeah the retreat is harsh. Besides that read the card!

Oh god yes Magnezone Lv. X. 80 and auto-paralysis for 2 energy is the eye catcher here, but Electric Trans is such a subtly amazing power that in a real match, it practically eclipses Cyber Shock (I've gone entire matches without Cyber Shocking once- especially against low-HP decks like Yanmega and AMU). The real power of Zone, though, is what's under him- Magnezone DP, with Electric Trans, effectively gives every Pokemon in play free retreat, and with Metal Blast, can function as a miniature Blissey. And with the release of Stormfront, you have Magnezone {Lightning}, who can consistently recycle energies for a constant paralysis, and Magnezone {Metal}, who effectively makes a Metal/ Lightning deck- the ability to search for any Pokemon with no cost is amazing, and he can attack fairly well, too. Not to mention the two Japan-only promo Magnezones, who are pretty powerful in their own right. He just combos with so many cards- Electivire, Heatran Lv. X, Palkia Lv. X (my personal favorite), Luxray (or so I hear), Metagross, Jumpluff SW (with Zone {Lightning}'s Gyro Ball), and more.

He does have his weaknesses, the most obvious of which being the x2 to Fire (it's under the word. :/). Magmortar is a difficult matchup because of it- but not impossible, however. The Retreat Cost almost requires you to run Zone DP (which isn't necessarily a bad thing). On top of that, he's slow- Stage 2 Lv. X's tend to be, especially ones that discard attached energy to attack.

Outside of that, though, he's a great card- I don't know why people seem to forget about him. 9.5/10

Electivire isn't a very good card to use as a main strategy. Just set up a Magnezone and a Claydol and worry about Electivire later.

i couldn't remember what the DP magnezone did, and knew better than to review this card without checking it. thanks for the tip. yes, zero retreat cost.

8.5/10

I enjoy playing this card, it's awesome with electrivire bronzong MT and latios GE!!!, i wonder if palkia LvX could help?

After stormfront hits the shelves, this is a for shure play. Use the conecctivity(bad spelling ftl) zone and vire, and you have constant paralyze. Run the DP zone and you have free retreat and a beast attack

you will run it with electivire and electivire lx x because what will happen is you will hit them with the status condition then they will play dawn's stadium and heal it off, you will free retreat because of magnazone's body then follow wit electivire and ko with invinicibility becase you discarded their stadium. Run with chatot and evoluter and potion because doing 20 to a metal pokemon with a metal on it won't do much at all, and fact is once you get the combo going, which is much faster than most realize, you do have control.... plus it's 80 for 2 energy!!!!
