Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

2009 - 2010 League Cycle - UXIE AND CLAYDOL

The only real backlash I can see from getting these cards is how people who spent money on Uxies and Claydols are going to flip out. Fortunately, I am not one of these people, so I really don't have to worry about it. :p

The inclusion of good supporters and Dialga G is comforting, too.

My only question is how this will affect rewards we receive in the mail. I just got my final five POP9 packs today, and the thought crossed my mind. Will we receive promo cards in the mail, too? Or will that be completely dropped?

I cant believe it. This is for sure increase the attends at league. And not only that there will be more competition going around and harder to win. Now all the players that dint have Uixe, Claydol, Bebe's, Roseanne's and etc. Will now have a set to play with. But I'm looking forward to this. Just to make it more fun to win.

People who spent money on them have likely been using them and winning with them for over a year now, so they have nothing to complain about (not that that ever stops anyone on this site).

League players getting Uxies, Roseannes and Claydols is fantastic. It means that there will be more good decks and more competition at league, which should lead to a better standard of play all round.

True enough on both counts. :3

I can hardly wait for this to start, though I am still curious on account of what will happen (if anything) to replace the POP packs players get in the mail. Does anyone have an answer to that?

LOL, maybe we'll still get POP9's for the rest of the year! LOL. No, just kidding. I'm sure they have something good up their sleeves by now.

It's been hinted at that the Player Rewards will be completely different than the League Promos. Nothing more than hints though.

Definitely NOT POP9.

It would be great to see POP10 have these cards in it but be random sets. So one pack, you may Snorlax+Uxie, and in another Claydol and whatever bad card was paired with it.

We're getting staples in league promos, and people are still complaining?

Until they hand out a complete tier 1 deck and a paid trip to Worlds for every player who thinks they deserve one, then yes.

Oh, and they can triple the prize support (paid in cash, obviously) and hold Nats in the town I live in too, while they are at it.

well this will hopefully get more ppl in at my league.

granted, I'd like to know if they're going to be actual DP promos or still have the original markings (classify as a set variant, like GE Claydol still being GE Claydol - but a new shiny version).

either way, looking forward to some new foils. any new news (say that 5 times fast) about how the vid games are being incorporated into league?

Sweeeet.

So what I want to know is will they retain their previous set symbol and collector's number, or are they being shifted into a promo star set?

From the look of the pictures on the OP site, the promos will have the same set symbol. Also, this will mean that it won't have any effect on when the cards are rotated out. Sorry.

::sigh:: well there's still a chance right? but if not, oh well. new shiny cards!

it should be bacon and beer, rather than roses and chocolate ;)

'mom

The inclusion of Claydol into leagues promo should reduce the bickering from players down by another 30-40%.

lol.............What kind of beer should we send them?..............lol.............

Sam Adams! XD

If everyone will keep in mind that the goal is to "grow the game." This all makes sense. Many of the cards being offered as league prizes have been sold for much more than they should be worth. I have even seen Roseanne's Research sold for more than $10. This is going to keep casual players away from our game. By adding key moving cards, you increase the competative potential of all who participate in league play. More deck staples for competitors, shiny promos for casual players!

Everybody wins! I can't wait to receive my league box and get things rolling this year!

Sounds like you only want to make Pokemon "fun" for the real players, the competitive type.
Pokemon is fun for all and having really good cards come out helps a bit.

i think some people are just moaning about uxie and claydol is because they can probally get them whenever and could of sold them for a high price to make a bit of money, Now they cant do that!

if the cards do have the set symbol from there prevoius sets thats means there still gonna be rotated out next year right? *Cries*

New League season

This new league season will prove quite interesting. I just became a league leader, and can't wait. It makes me sad that there is no badges, but like some of you said we have seen them all before. I haven't competed in any tournaments, but I'd like to. The competetive part is pretty fun for me. Any players in the state of Michigan check out the league page:

http://www.op.pokemon-tcg.com/league/details/?id=4306

for info on the Perry Gym. Alos any players in Michigan please send me a shout, I'd like to get involved in more things.

I'd love to know more about how they plan to incorporate the video game into league. There is no proper level balance system outside of PBR and wifi matches. This is the part that really interests me.
