I was about to go off if a TO made you pay to play in a BR.

I'm bringing extra sleeves to my BR, both in case for myself, and as extras for others.

Worst case scenario, you can play without sleeves.

But no two cards will wear exactly the same way. Playing without sleeves clearly isn't the solution either.

i once entered a tournament with marked cards just to see if the judges would catch it and they didnt, however after the deck check i pointed out the error the judges had made and was scorned for it =/

dumbest idea ever.
Judges I think give a lot of people the benefit of the doubt that you aren't cheating. anyway cards sometimes are hard to replace during the tournament..

wow, as a judge I want to thank you for the lack of respect to not only your judges but all judges. I hope I never have to judge with someone like you in the event.

I guess I can see some logic in doing that...

What I don't understand is why you would wake up early, purposely waste your time sleeving a marked deck, drive to the tournament, enter your deck, then blab and get DQ'd, all to prove a point? You must be a veryyy bored person.

This isn't a big deal ... you can get sleeves in double packs (100 sleeves) for 4 bucks I just bought 5 packs for 20 dollars which does work out to 8 dollars to play because you need 2 packs per deck. You really shouldn't care though as you probably spent more on the cards and should want to protect them.

the point is that if you're going to do that before every tournament it can/will get costly.

8 dollars worth of sleeves per tourney
lets say you do
4 BR
3 cities
2 states
1 regional
AND 1 NATIONAL

thats 80 dollars worth of sleeves
lets say you play the TCG for 3 years
$240 dollars on SLEEVES???

i feel like if you you have to go through extreme measures like holding it up to the light, or looking at it from an awkward angle the card is playable, cause i would def call a judge if i saw a player leaning to one side to pick up a prize card

and honestly prize cards are the only way to abuse marked cards...and with azelf it kinda pointless... unles you are a vegas dealer and can feel the creases in the corner while shuffling then it wont do you any good. plus your opponent should cut your deck anyway Just MHO
