A host for league in Sarasota FL?

I agree with you completley Alison, but as we've talked about before, I don't think we have a comic bok shop around here. What about at the mall outside of that new Toyopia place?
 
Yeah, I've been to that toyopia place. I noticed that they had all the same merchandice as the collectible shop recenlty closed nearby, plus some other. Perhaps toyopia could host it and it could be held in the food court?(there isnt much room in the store itself)
 
The food court would be good, or even right outside the store in the mall corridor would work - and it would be a little more confined. Either or would be good, and it would be better for encouraging the older players than either BAM or TRU.

Oh, I haven't been there for a while. Isn't that the kind of educational toy place, though? Last time I was there, all their stuff was gone.....

When did you start your Winter Haven leauge? that's very interesting. I might get up there sometime - but I think we're still going to start our own.

We used to do the old Wizards league, until people stopped coming. We've been doing the Nintendo league for about 5-6 weeks I think. Right now, we get about 8-10 players a week, but we're always looking for more people so that we can do booster drafts and bigger tournaments.

I can't speak for Allison or anyone else from around here, but the second you guys do anything sanctioned, I'll be there - even it's just an 8-top tourney.

Our league is already sanctioned, it's just a matter of getiing enough people every week to run tournaments.
 
Guys...unless the post has some kind of specific information about your league location...day, time, place, cost, tourney, etc...please keep the private chit-chat like the comment above to email, AIM or private message, as it adds nothing of substance necessary for the community at large and is essentially SPAM. We're still going to start our leauge - I had to have my wisdom teeth taken out on Friday, and I'm just starting to feel better. I will come to Winter Haven for tournments, etc, but we need a leauge closer to home. I'm going to try to get with Alison this week to work out the details.

I asked Heidi (the GL) about when we're doing tournaments, and she said probably the last Sat. in November. Since shes the Premiere TO for most of the big tourneys in FL, she doing 3 tournaments next month

I assume she's doing the Dragon pre-release... do you have a datre for that yet? WHat are the other two?

Since the store in Georgia that did the SS pre-release ddnt reply, Florida gets 2 Dragon prereleases. The Orlando one Im pretty sure is Nov. 15. There is also one in Gainesville(that I might help judge), that I think is a week later. Im not sure about the 3rd one. But, I'll get that info out as soon as I get it. Btw, in case you didnt see my post, there is a tournament in Clermont next Sat.
