It's really not that hard here. God gives us to options, Heaven or ****. Now which one would you like to go to. Anyway only truly evil ppl go to **** so it's really not that bad for most of us.

It don't work that way. You either believe or you don't...end of story.

I don't. End of story.

Pascals wager, eh?
Sorry, buddy, that arguement fails because it assumes your beliefs are correct.

Let us say that the Bible is wrong, and that Satanism is correct, which assumes that Lucifer was an angel who rebeled against God, who was seen to be a cruel dictator. It is believed that when you go to ****, you can join with him, and together overthrow the Tyrant who has kept humanity under hus thumb for thousands of years.
If this religion is right and I turn to Christianity to be safe, and it turns out that Satanism is correct, then we have given up a chance to fight and instead we are forever prisoners of God.

Pascals wager is a losing arguement. Sorry.

God sure has done much more for use than Satin ever has.

Don't forget that the person that disbelieves in God is going to **** too. That is what I don't like. Why would any God put people on this earth just to throw 75% (probably much higher according to the bible) in the Lake of Fire? Seems kind of cruel, don't you think?

If all your life you turn away from God, then why would you want to live with him for eternity?

Would you like to go to Hogwarts and have magic powers?

...oh wait, that's right. You didn't believe the stuff in those books. Guess that means you don't want magic abilities then.

why is it ONLY 'either/or', 'god' or 'satan'?

no other religious traditions are worth consideration? nor is the concept of 'many paths to the river'?

i believe the saying is something like 'god is too big to be contained in only one religion'...

Good point. As long as you truly believe your religion, are fathfull to it, and God is the base of it, I really don't think that God is going to send you to ****.

unfortunately, you've missed my point. there are religious traditions with morals/values who do not have a belief in a creator 'god', nor of the god of the bible; by your definition followers of such would be sent to '****'. isn't that still 'my way is the only way'?

for example: on a crafting board i read, a regular poster was devastated when her teenaged niece was killed in an auto accident. compounding her quite normal grief at the situation was the fact that her religion stated absolutely that her beloved niece was now burning in **** because she was not of the same religion as her aunt. instead of offering comfort and solace during a family tragedy, her religion was *adding to* the grief...doing exactly the opposite of what one would think their faith should do at such a time.

so in the midst of grief and loss, she was faced with an unbearable choice: either her lifelong belief in her faith was 'wrong'....or it was 'right' and her loved one was now suffering, never to be seen again by her for eternity.

spiritual crisis much? that's what 'my way is the only way' does...whereas if she was open to the 'many paths to the river' concept, she could believe that her niece was in the afterlife that the niece believed in according to her own religious tradition instead of suffering for eternity in her aunt's concept of '****'.

food for thought...

But God is in everything, and the base of everything so they DO have God as the base of it. :p

Basicly I think as long as you live a good life youll eventually get to Heaven.
please don't put words in my mouth, nor misrepresent my religious tradition. your 'god' is not 'in everything', and certainly not in my beliefs...not to mention, why would i go to a 'heaven' i don't believe in?

Heaven/afterlife, what ever you want to call it, its basicly the same thing. And yes, God IS in everything, and everyone. He can do what ever He wants.

Jesus is the only way. The path is narrow but few will find it. This forum is proof, aswell as the world.

Uhhh....I'm supposedly methodist, but in truth, I practice no religion, so where do I stand here?
And if the question should be brought up, I believe in God, but think about him as little as possible. I just go around day-2-day life? Is that bad?

I am amazed at your insight into the minds of omnipotent beings. We at the Gym are blessed with a prophet.
