XD. You think that's weird? I told my girlfriend what she looks like before I ever saw her picture. I was dead-on, right down to her glasses, too. lol

Eugene, BR photos

Hi,

I took some photos at the Eugene BR. You can see them here. They are in the gallery too along with pictures of the Corvallis, BR.

I got a new camera this spring after reading many online reviews and talking to some people. I didn't scrimp on the cost. Well, I sent it back and am waiting to see if I just bought a lemon or the folks that give out camera awards were paid well by the company that made mine. (my camera won best compact award for 2007-08). So I got out my 'old reliable' because I like taking photos and when Pokemon players are battling I can sneak up on them and grab a photo.:wink: So I may be visiting Marvin at Walmart to buy some cheap camera to get the same results I got with my award winning one.

Hey Marvin--our league in Texas met in a Walmart, at the McDonald's there. Just sending a thought your way. . . (for NM or any other place you may land).

The Eugene BR was lots of fun. I faced many new opponents. I always enjoy the DS finals on the big screen and I know zero about DS battles.

I purchased a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ3 camera at Christmas time. Amazing camera that I am in love with. Very highly rated, but apparently not just hype. Good luck finding Something that works for you.

I can't believe you mention that camera as it's the exact same one I have and dislike intensely!!! I can't believe it received so many awards. My photos are dark, blurry and very inconsistent--on all settings. If the company tells me something is wrong and fixes it then I'll be willing to take the camera back. But if they say it's ok, I'll need to meet up with you for some camera lessons!
I just want a camera that will fit in my pocket and takes nice photos.
 
No camera lessons from me. All I know how to do is point and click on the simplest setting, and I have been really happy with the results. I have been really happy with the movies it takes also. Very simple to download to the computer and it comes in as a Quicktime movie. I use the camera all the time at work to document various processes and get good results, though once in a while because of the light in a manufacturing environment, I do have to adjust the photo's light values in Photoshop, but it is still way better than other cameras we have used.

I hope yours is something that can be fixed.
 
Thanks rpatt. I've tried many many different settings on my camera. I'm not happy with any except the outdoors photos. I got some great stop action shots of my son during track season. Your note makes me believe I just got a lemon.

I think the issue may be your camera shutter speed. Your son plays the game so fast (and track to I imagine) that all a normal camera can capture is a blur.

I totally just got kick.. butt boots for my birthday just in time for to defend my League at BR. >w<
It's gonna be black platform boots, Team Rocket shirt, socks with the whales on them probably, and my red pajama pants. xD
Because Team Rocket kicks butt. >3

Yes! I'm now 7th in state and age division (darn you haxy computer for not getting me higer), I am no longer behind Seph! Kingdra swarm has fallen!
 
WOOOOOHOOOO!!! I got June 15th off From work!!! I can go to Salem for the last BR Competition! I'm soooo excited! I really wanted to be able to attend one of these this season, so that I could know enough about them for the fall season, when we may be having them down here. I'm gonna lead as big a group of Southern Oregonians as I can!! Look out Salem, Here come the PokeMisfits!!!
