Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

BLG(Blaziken FB-Luxray GL-Garchomp C)

MrMeches-Thanks for your support. Also I'm glad I had your help editing it, you were very helpful to me and know when i do my next one I'll know how to do links and stuff like that.

to everyone else- Thanks for the positive comments i have recieved on this article, i intend to have one or two more techs added tommorrow.

wow.. probably the most amazing article i have ever read. you explain everything very very well.
im sure that you could even teach a scrub how to play luxchomp with this article.

Think about it: Sableye requires an attack. Smeargle is superior in almost any way. 2 Cyrus uses a turn is gamebreaking. At least Sableye's removal for Smeargle is necessary for the other SP mirrors, particularly if they run it too.

darksoulSP-I like the sableye because I KNOW i will get to use it, what if Smeargle gets power sprayed etc. Also Sableye is harder to donk because it guarantees that i go first and adding Unown Q gives me an even higher potential to get donked, and plus Quick is a power, if any one of those two powers are sprayed i'm a sitting duck. Sableye as an attack can slow me down but i have found that it is more consistent and at least in my area is used more(also sableye allows me to turn into sablelock for a turn or two by letting me use looker's and i could even add a dark energy too)

Well, the reason why I would rather cut the Luxury Ball is simply for GengPlume. Unless I
draw it early game then it's not really that good in the match.

Lord Broly- I see your point, but it depends on your area i guess. In my area there was a lot of Garchomp C based decks and not as many GengaPlume.

Scybuck-The metagame is what decks are popular in an area, so for example one deck could be popular in Ohio but not California etc.

Fantastic article, I decided to get back into competitive Pokemon a couple weeks ago and chose to go with a similar BLG deck. It's very fun to play and quite viable vs a vast array of matchups. However I am having significant trouble vs Spiritomb trainer locks, especially when they get multiple Spiritomb early in the match. Thinking about adding in some more supporters or Regice with Regi Move, but I would like to hear your opinion vs that card as well. Perhaps the best option would be to add in a Dialga line like your article suggests and it can help vs the other matchups you pointed out as well.

Huracane- vs Spiritomb decks in general you want to add the Dialga G line and take out Toxi G promo(this allows you to add a metal energy/warp energy/Unown Q, which if you do that i'd also suggest taking Sableye for Smeargle). I'd say Dialga G LV.X is best but you might have to take out a card or two so you can effectively use it(being able to Warp Energy out and maybe pull off a deafen or two). Also i personally don't like Regice in this deck because ultimately you don't want to discard two cards and as you said most of the time they'll have two tombs set up. Also vs. GengaPlume Dialga G LV.X is definitely the play and make sure you keep in Drifblim. Also Dialga G, if you add a metal energy too, gives you acces to Lucario GL and Bronzong G as attackers, not used most of the time, but it allows you to still have a Luxray GL LV.X counter even if you take out Toxicroak G promo. hope i helped.

Thanks for the reply, ill try out adding in a Dialga line with just metal energy for starters, might mess around with the other choices you listed too if I feel like its missing something, its just very hard to take anything out with a techy build like this.

I'd like to run this deck, but I only have 1 Luxray Gl Lv. X, and I can't afford another one. What should I stick in the empty slot?

And how do you get the Drifblim out and ready so quickly? By the time I usually get it out, I'm toast.

And what about the Gyarados matchup?

Another base Luxray, another base Blaziken, or any number of single card Pokemon TecHs. There are simply so many ways to run this type of deck, so tailor your deck to your playing style and your metagame.

As far as Gyarados, you don't touch the Gyarados. You can trade prizes for a few turns, then combine Luxray, Lucario, and Crobat to get the Gyarados when you need to.

For that extra slot, yeah a LOT of different ways to run it, no joke if you want to tech it in you probably can.

For G-Dos matchup Lux GL X Flash Impact+Crobat G+Lucario GL, not fun but just to keep trading prizes/stalling w/ Luring Flame/Bright Look and take prizes with Dragon rush.

One fun thing I liked doing was to pull the Ice forward and start Rushing around it. Burning it puts a timetable, but gives you more KO options.

I agree bright looking it is best but sometimes burning it can lead to multiple KO's, plus burning it early game makes it harder to get the karps in the discard pile.
