Can P!P Dodge a Bullet?

Honestly, what I reckon they'll do when B/W comes out, is they won't change the rules OR have a mid-season rotation. Unless they make a huge mistake, they have two options:

1) Release B/W but not to bother with changing the rules or the format.

2) Release B/W and change the rules and the format to HG:SS-Onwards.

Changing the rules to the new B/W rules in Japan without rotating out some earlier sets to make it HG:SS-On would be a disaster, although changing it to HG:SS-On and keeping our current rules wouldn't be so bad, but doesn't really fit in with the "theme". So I reckon they'll do one of the two things I just mentioned.

I don't think you thought that through all the way. The rules would have to be implemented to define "Abilities" and how they interact with older cards, errata on reprinted cards, and other general game play. It would be incredibly wonky to roll out some of the rules and not all of them, but I suppose anything's possible.

I think I'll be on Ebay the day after states selling all my SP stuff while it's still worth something...

Since Black and White aren't usable till after Regionals, wouldn't it be a little ridiculous to rotate that late in the season. I mean, we are already halfway, and if they were going to change it, they would probably change it in the next couple weeks. Bu since B&W won't be usable till after, I find it highly unlikely for a mid-season rotation.

Yeah sorry, forgot about that one. They would clarify Abilities but not introduce any futher rule changes, is what I meant.

If you really want to know what's going to happen, then so be it: pre worlds rotation = nope. pre worlds implementation of new black and white rules = nope. No problem folks, I do what I can.

The format already revolves too much around two or three decks. Gyrados, Gengar, and somebody chomp. I would like to see more attention paid to the unlimited format. Some of the old school ways would kick some lilly white. I vote for less fluff in new releases and more sparkley cards!

Epic Post!! +50 points for this! I agree 100% I'm just hoping the rule changes aren't too drastic because I enjoyed the game alot before all this new stuff(I just recently got back into pokemon and am not fully up to date) -.- I think the new Black and White cards are neat and all, but just might interfer with the enjoyment of the game. Its kinda sad that they are banning cards from play and I don't know if my deck is legal or not. :'(
