Well, when it comes to uncommons there can be a lot of variation (especially if there's a lot of uncommons in the set). For example, when I opened up a Platinum box, I got 3 Poke Turns, 3 BTS, but I only got 1 Cyrus, and I didn't get any Crobat Gs. In my Triumphant box, I got a playset of practically every T/S/S and most UC Pokemon (if not all). Then again, Platinum was a huge set with 42 different UC.. Triumphant had 29. Each pack has 3 UC (not counting RHs), so with 36 packs, that's 108 UC. If you want to expect a playset of each UC, the set would need to have at most about 27 different UCs. And that's not even assuming random placement, which would explain why in my Platinum box I didn't get 2.5 of each UC.

If I squinted right, there's 98 cards in the set? It may be possible to get 3-4 Catchers per box.
 
lol ive bought boxes befor too and the cards place in the boxes arnt as ramdom as you think they are.
i exspect 1 or 2 per box. the best cards in the set usally are harder to get and you never really get that many per box.
heck im hope im wrong and thier 4 per box not counting foil catcher'
 
#30 is Beartic, 11 from cut BW first set, 8 from the Virizion BSD, thus 11 cards as either Japanese promos or new TCG exclusives.

Thinking the exact same thing, it is just too obvious that these are the abilities ones, look at the design of the artwork. Also why print a tin that have starter deck cards.

Or I'm wrong again and they could be EX versions, most lily not though.
 
Catcher being confirmed is a bit of a bummer but the metagame will adapt. Very happy to finally see Beartic, there is sure to be some interesting combinations to try out with him (Bearplume anyone?). And as far as the tins go, I'll bet dollars-to-donuts it's the ability trio, the non-ability ones already had theme decks, no sense in reusing them as the main card in a release.

Swanna seems like a good candidate for an English exclusive, since Ducklett's sitting by its lonesome up there. :)
 
Listen, if you hate Catcher so much and think it will destroy the meta, then ya'll are just pessimists and stop it. Yes, Donk decks will get a boost, along with all the other decks too! There is no rule sayin that only certain decks can use it, so please stop whining.

Catcher is awful for this game, period. With the new rules about going first the opening coinflip will influence the game so much it makes me cry. Lolmirror? Im ahead yb default and can prevent you from ever getting anything up. Lol benchsitter tech? Good luck even trying to get it up. Lol 222 Lines? Get used to 423 Lines. Lolcleverstrategythatisntabout speed? Good luck ever setting that up.

I was so hoping we could finally return to the blessed delta days but instead well just return to the speedfest of last season once more. Who can kill more basics faster, exiting...

and good luck getting vileplum up with catcher around, With this card the concept of a bench is basically dead. And no the fact that it is an old card doesnt mean its good, would you want a reprint of old oak?
 
Well, either way, we don't know all of B/W: EP cards yet, so don't believe the hype until we see the set cards. Plus, it aint like they are never goin to release another set again, maybe in one of the following sets there will be a counter to it.
 
I personally feel that with cards like Archeops, GoW reprint, and that weird Tool card that gives Basics a permanent Defender, the card creators have something up their sleeve (hmmm, just what might those EX cards look like?).

... either that or, well, we're all DOOOOOMMMMEEEDDD>>>//...
 
Didn't people say Lost World was going to absolutely ruin the game and if they printed it in America tons of people were just gonna quit playing.... yeah.
 
Its not like GoW is basically the black lotus of pokemon and we know exactly how it will affect stuff.

And I still stand by what I say, normal decks had no business beating lostworld, "fortunatly" we had sp around. And it will still be strong and its just a lame concept/deck and no fun

Please understand, Yoshi- I respect your opinion about Catcher, and there's the very real possibility that you could be right. But I want to see how it does in an actual tournament environment before people start saying "this is ruining the game." We're going to get it. There's no way for players to stop it. Any other complaining about the card is just restatement of every other time someone has complained about it since the card was originally released in Japan.

Am I the only one tired of hearing "X hyped card is going to ruin the game"? :confused:
 
Im just tired of the fact that every time this game could become playable again japan poops on our heads once more.

But it will be like sp was, bad players will still go "hur hur i kileld 6 basics in 6 turns and you couldnt do anything, this game is soo good", I guess we get the cards that we deserve...

The only hope I have is that catcher will be too much of a deathdraw to play 4 of in each deck but well probably get an uxie reprint in the next set lol. But even then so many games wil lcome down to "i begin, t2 i catcher up your basic and kill it, even if a real game still happens player 1 gets such an unfair advantage..."

Promo Ducklett just got released as the English BW17 promo, though. Otherwise I came up with the exact list that you did, except I didn't realize that there was another Basculin in addition to Black Collection's. :smile:
 
Any ideas on how to stop the Beartic threat? Will Dodrio UD have to be teched into everything with a retreat cost of 2 or less?
 
If Pokemon Catcher is going to make the game "unplayable", wouldn't that mean Pokemon Reversal made the game "unplayable" 50% of the time?
