Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

DA RULES ... And How to Become A Verified Seller, All SALES MUST LIST PRICE!!!

The 1 year rule is terrible idea.

It just turns people away.

But I am not exactly for the idea of people coming here just to sell either, they should be forced to use paypal in order to stop scamming, that would put to rest the problem IMO.

If it turns them away from coming here to sell, then it's doing it's job. Selling is a priviledge, not a right.

Just curious because after being approved, when we sell our cards, do we receive money by mail or is it strictly through paypal? Asking because I thought I read on here it was strictly required that we MUST use paypal before, but now I'm unable to find it - I don't have a paypal account nor do I know how to use one. Thanks for any help ahead of time.

I dont know if the owner of the site has put thought into this any.

But he could profit big if he had a Pokemon Auction system put into place, buy and sell.
of course making the payment via paypal and all, but have a ebay similar layout. Perhaps the reference system would be added on to the trade ref system as well.

Some people want to sell, and they cant, ebay can be quite a task to sell.

We need more people in this game, not away from it.

Well I'm thinking if you want to sell go to eBay. I like the one year rule.
Yeah I want to sll on here but I know I have to wait. I'm cool with it.
Plus if you love the game it shouldnt stray you away from this site.

That's the EXACT same mindset I had as well. I'm sure they thought the same thing when putting this into action.

no but a year is a long time, it should be minimal iTrader score of say....... 10? before you allowed to sell or 1 year after registering.

It goes along with the reputation you earn for yourself among the gym in addition to what was said before about "if you plan on sticking with the TCG, then why leave the gym following that year anyway?"

Payment method is up to the seller.

PokeGym does not get a cut from any sale so whatever payment option that both can use is the best option.

paypal is safer for transactions.

but paypal can also screw you, if both sides trusted each other enough you better off going the money order route.

10? Seriously? Honestly I doubt that is enough to prove a pattern of good trade values in a person. You're lucky that when we were setting this up that we compromised down to as low as 20 positive references. If I remember correctly someone suggested 40 or 50 - can't remember which.

10 refs can be had in a month if you are prolific enough. 10 is easy enough to make a predator/scam artist willing to invest the time. If a person even is somewhat patient, even 20 refs are easy enough to do. However, having 20 refs AND the one year requirement helps the mods to see what kind of person those people are - showing their true colors through their continued posts, and trades.

No, I don't think 10 would be fair to everyone involved (especially the mods who would be charged to deal with the trade forum and possible trade disputes), nor would it be a fair example of how a person would do as a seller. If someone can be trusted with trades over a long period of time, then possibly they can be trusted with money - but not necessarily. If the current mods decide to change the requirements, that's their prerogative. Personally I'd suggest that any negative refs should be grounds to disallow a person from selling, but that's my opinion only. However from an ex-mod, I'd certainly think that any other amendments to the rules to water down the requirements would be a bad idea.

But hey, what do I know?

Yeah, but if I remember correctly, you were gone from pokemon for a while though too. I had well over 50 refs even before the itrader reference system was even introduced (or that I became a mod for that matter - I'm a bit of a dinosaur in the game). It's just this last year that I've retired. I just never seem to get retired enough to stay away from the pokegym for any length of time.

I don't personally endorse 50 refs, but I can see how that would ensure a person's good trade values. The mods had to draw a line somewhere, so let's just work with the system that we have, just like we work within the rules of the trading card game while we play. It's as fair for all as it can be. One day when it's not so fair, I'm sure (and I think it's prudent to have faith that) the mods will change it to suit as many as they deem fair at the time.
