Donking, and why it is suddenly a big concern for the community

I think the only reason donks are such a problem right now is Seeker. Some people in this thread argue that you can play cards in your deck to help prevent the donk. And prior to triumphant, I would agree with that. However recently I played against a uxie donk deck. I started first with a garchomp c start and a call energy. I decided to call for

Dialga G, 100hp and -20 resistance to psychic
Dragonite FB. 100hp

I figured, there is no way that he can get rid of 2 100 hp behemoths and an 80hp garchomp. However 4 poke blowers, 4 poketurns, 2 crobat Gs, Seeker, and 7 plays of super scoop up later I was proven wrong.

Seeker basically did 100 damage but didn't get him an extra prize. And besides seeker he was able to put 120 damage counters on the board before he attacked with uxie.

I don't agree with banning cards in a game. I do agree with releasing cards to balance them out. Hopefully that will be the case once our next set comes out.

Just my 2 cents

^Spiritomb is the balance to it though. Problem is, noth everything can afford to run it. I've gone up against my friend at 2 Cities where he was undefeated with Shuppet (6-0 and 5-0), but I play Spiritomb (and VIleplume xD) and was able to 4-0 him in tourney play with ease. Spiritomb is a hard counter to Uxie donk. Sure, not starting with it can mess you up, but if you are unable to dig up a resource, that's your deck underpreforming.

So if Uxie/Shuppet donk is the big complaint, suck it up and play Spiritomb. Of course donks still happen, but they are much less common. It even survives Ambipom G with DCE. Sableye is the obvious problem, but its even less common than Spiritomb from what i've seen (excluding in Gyarados where no dark energy is run to make use of its attack anyway).

Not much to do off with Seeker though. That's a well rounded and donk benefical card indeed...

I kinda laughed at the title. IDK why, it just seemed kinda funny to me, Considering that most popular decks out could t1 donk... I mean, if it's such a huge concern, let's all play cruddy decks!

Personally, donking is kinda annoying. But it isn't a huge concern for the community - like many others have said, donking as been around since the game has started.

Donking isn't fun, but sometimes games where you trade prizes the whole time and you lose isn't fun either. I don't think it's a big deal, and if you really hate being donked, throw some Tombs or Calls in, or something.

Donkig is not healthy. I think it's a form of cancer.

Donking, however, is a different matter.

Donking, while not the most fun thing in the world, can be played around, and is just a natural part of the game.

Oh, aren't you clever. Oh ya, can you play around this donk.
your start:
unown q
your opponents start:
sableye dark

You get 20 seconds. GO!

lol...internet fail

that was a jeapardy reference

Unown Q Call for Luxray GL Garchomp C next turn Cyrus, Lightning, Gain, Collector, T2 Bright Look.

Ummm . . . Porii Sames Fail

Unown Q start vs Sableye w/ Dark Energy . . .

You don't get a turn!

And part of a donk is that you don't get what you need. So even if i run my trademark 6 call energies, i still get donked.

We should all run 54 Call Energys, youll never get donked again.

I dont know if you really dotn get it but the complains about donks are there because those are losses where you had no chance to do anything because opening hands are RANDOM! and your opening hand didnt have what you needed to avoid the donk. And no amounth of stuffing your deck with donk-avoiding cards will ever change that. Because opening Hands are RANDOM! Random, like in, YOU CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AND IF YOU HAVE BAD LUCK YOU JUST LOOSE, BECAUSE YOU RANDOM!!!! LY GOT A BAD HAND.

"If you get donked just run more anti-donk cards" is the most ridiculus idiotic argument ever

Im glad that yoshi posted this, it's pretty much exactly the point we are trying to get across. WHEN WE COMPLAIN ABOUT GETTING DONKED, IT'S BECAUSE WE CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, i figured you would have figured this out.

Yeah, nothing can really ensure you never get donked - just some things, like Tomb or Call, help to prevent donking. Nothing can completely stop it - unless you figure out how to consistently counterdonk donk decks.
