All I know is that this set will be another huge set with more than 130 cards just like Secret Wonders (assuming all the cards released in Japan WILL make it Worldwide)

What I'm thinking is. Mewtwo X makes Basic Pokemon useless v. it.

Azelf.Uxie.Mespirt all counter basic pokes. Seems to me during there testing the basics were really strong, forcing them to make those cards to prevent the game from becoming unbalanced.

ROFL, that show was win.

Still not seeing how good Mewtwo Lv X is personally. Also missing Celio's already.

Ok I am a bit confused on how you can not like Mewtwo X. so tell me what about it do you not like?
It is like Mewtwo* only better, whats not to like?

Celios wont be all that missed as long as we have Bebe's. Yes Celios is better but we will get along fine with Bebe's.
What I am most going to miss is Holon's Castfrom, It will make mulit-energy line decks a lot more difficult to pull off in the future.

The thing I am going to miss is... DRE, Ceilio's, Scramble and Castaway. Those cards have become staples in nearly every deck. DRE needs no excuse. 2 Energy is to good to pass up.Espesially with Gallade, who KO everything anyway. Scramble is great. Saying good-bye to it will be hard. No more amazing comebacks when your running low on Energy when you need it most. No more advantages of letting a starter get KOed. It will be sad. Castaway is a great card. Lapras GE can't replace it, as he needs Energy. Castaway was a great card that lets you get an Energy, Supporter and Tool from your deck. Not many decks could afford to not play at least one of it. Ceilio's has become pretty much the best card in the format. Yes, better then Gallade, Magmortar... think about it. What decks DON'T run it? Bebe's can replace it, but Ceilio's will always be dear to our hearts. It was always such a good card.

Another card that will really get hurt by it is Blissey. No Boost = no quick 30 extra damage out of nowhere. No Scramble means that huge comebacks doing like 100+ won't happen anymore. The rotation of Special Energy will bring a new era to Pokemon. We've become so reliant on them that I guess PUI wanted to see what we'd do without them. So ends my conclusion on what will be missed greatly by many players. I hope that we get reprints of all these cards, but I guess not. However, there are some new things that will make amends for what was lost:

First off, I have to say Rhyperior Lv.X is broken. A possible 250 for 0 Energy is wonderful. Even without Mantine d in the format, Rhyperior Lv.X will still be insanely broken. Lose your deck, while doing 0-250 a turn, then eventually put all Energy back into your deck for three Energy! Magnezone Lv.X will definatly see some play. Auto-Paralyzis and 80 for two Energy is just too good to pass up. Mewtwo Lv.X gains imunity to Basics, which can bve HUGE in the format it's going to be in, as I'll explain below. Plus, it OHKOs Gallade = pwnage. Groudon is insanely fast, and will be the next T2 deck, or Kyogre will be very good too. Rayquaza will be great, but only being able to have one in play to use it's Power is bad.

Overall, the new set will introduce us to new cards and strategies that will change the way we play. Cheap Energy costs means that even without Special Energy, Pokemon will continue to be a fast and enjoyable game. However, some of the staples we have now will become rotated, and so we are forced to play alternatives or do without. This is what I think the format will be like next format.

I used some of these cards on redshark 2.00 and I gotta say, Speed Spread can make a comeback,Kyogre is so nice it accels itself and does 60/20 to all, that has to be one of the best spread starters.100 HP is nice.

This set is nice and if we get this next set then its gonna make up for a very dissappointing Great Encounters we got.

Let Fire Fall:

Seriously, why not take a look back to 2003-2004 EXP-HL Format??!?!?!?!

Was DRE commonly played in the best 4 archtype decks? No.

They all used energy accerlator Pokemon to speed up the energy attachments.

Blaziken: firestarter RS (they used aqua's manectric as well, before that was ampharos)
Swampert: water call RS (the pokepower one)
Gardevoir: psy shadow RS
Magma: magma's camerupt + magma's claydol
Aqua: aqua's lanturn + aqua's manectric (even though that deck isnt good as magma but its the counterpart version...)

None of the above listed deck even used DRE, or Scramble.
Heck, that was BEFORE Celio even released!

What did they use to search for Pokemon back then? It was Oracle combined with Delcatty RS. Ahhh the good ol days...

Boost... I am sure it will be reprinted one day, along with Rainbow.

Still.... just dont complain about the DP-on metagame any further, Just wait until we see the rest of the set before deciding. ok?

Some decks didn't even use Oracle/Delcatty. I used a combination of Dunsparce and Wynaut in my Gardy deck to get set up, with some Fast Ball (HIGHLY underrated card there) for my Trainer-based searching. I don't even remember what my draw power was for that deck. It was a searching monster.

The best card to be released is Magnezone Lv.X

Yea its double weak to fire, but who cares?? His power and attack go hand and hand with Vire.If we get this before Nationals,Im so gonna play Zone Lv.x/Delcatty/Vire the deck is so nice Ive been testing it on redshark.

Oh its gonna be one of my favorite cards.

^^^This Ray needs an accelrator.

<3 Kyorge <3<3<3
At least my favourite Vaporeon UF successor is back, yesssss (<3 Aqua Supply <3<3)

Everything else is ....meh, nothing is really gamebreaking atm...Except for possibly, Gliscor X...

If.... the attacks form is outstanding too then it might be very playable.

So you're the kind of player who thinks the game is horrible if some cards you rely heavily on are gone? Psch.

Why do you assume his reasoning? I don't remember him saying anything along those lines. The reason why the game will turn out bad if cards like DRE and Scramble are not reprinted, is that energy acceleration decks will rule the format. Point blank. Nothing else will be playable, and to prevent that, a card like DRE needs to be made.

If energy acceleration decks rule the next format it won't be much different then it is now where G&G and Magmortor rule the format. It will just be a different kind of deck dominating.

I haven't played in a long time but I can take a pretty educated guess that when a format changes usually a different kind of deck tends to dominate that format.

I am actually hoping that they dont reprint DRE and Scramble energy because right now its almost impossible to use strong basic pokemon that require a lot of energy and don't evolve.

These pokemon would be crazy if we played them with the energies we have now. Imagen attaching double rainbow energy or a scramble to Magnezone lv x, and discarding them each turn to make your opponent's pokemon become paralyzed...... I really like Rayquaza yes it's flippy but if your lucky at coin flips this card can be really good.
