Dragon Trio Tins?

Western NC had them.

Bought the Zekrom EX one. Pulled a full-art Tornadus, holo Lucario, non-holo Reshiram, and a holo Virizion (the good one). Pretty happy with it.

Interesting that it has one less pack than the other tins, but I guess the EX outweighs the value.

Obviously not true. It is not as good as ReshEX so it doesn't deserve as many packs as the pthers!:biggrin:

I meant the EX tins have one less pack than the Stage 2 and other tins.

It won't be outweighing the value soon as they're dropping to $5 promos on T&T.

Promo set symbol. Utah has them, too. -_-;

Also, a word of caution to collectors. We had two tins bought by people in our league. One of them (Kyurem) was in relatively good condition, only a little bowed. Mine, though, was a Zekrom tin, and the top edge of it was so crimped by the packaging that it's not playable without an opaque sleeve, and maybe not even then.

Quality on the new EX tin promos are really bad. Mine also came with dents on the top due to the packaging.

also, It's definitely not as "shiny" as a pack-pulled EX (doesn't have that EX glare or shiny coat or whatever) and the foil pattern is a little different. If you look at the gold EX box at the bottom right, you'll see that there are small "holo stars" that provide the base for the foil, instead of nothing on the regular ex's.

All in all, it's still a solid buy. You get a playable EX card for cheap and a few packs to boot. The Zek EX I got from the tin is currently in my beat up proxied testing deck... It's not good enough to go in the trading folder haha.

So based on that past fact I would assume that they wouldn't be usable even though they're reprints of already legal cards. So if anyone is planning on using these at any of the earlier States then at least be prepared to have to switch them for something else if they make the same ruling.

Actually covered by the official tournament rules now:

Official Tournament Rules said:
15.5. Unreleased Cards

From time to time, players will acquire cards from a new set prior to its regular release date,
usually via a Prerelease. These cards may not be used in sanctioned tournaments until the
regular release date of the set, as outlined in Section 16, with one exception. Cards that are
already tournament legal which have been reprinted in an unreleased set may be used as long
they are easily identifiable as a reprinted card. This is typically only an issue when a reprinted
card receives new art, though other factors may create a similar issue. These cards should
always be played with the most recent wording of the tournament-legal version of the card.
Players who are unsure as to whether an unreleased card meets the exception above should
check with the Head Judge prior to the start of the tournament

So, assuming that this is true, the tin promos should be legal even though they have not been officially released yet since they are exact reprints of tournament-legal cards.

I can confirm that these tins are in Arizona and come with 4 ND packs.

That's interesting, because the one that I bought had the 2 ND, 1 NV, and 1 EP distribution.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm saying that apparently there's a random distribution of packs in each tin...

I wanted 4 ND packs... :/

The others have five?

I compared the Emboar stage 2 Tin to the Zekrom EX Tin and noticed that the Emboar stage 2 Tin came with 5 packs while the Zekrom EX Tin only came with 4 packs and yet were the same price (19.99) @ Target.

wow target overprices them. I found a couple from some Californian retailer and they were $14.99.

Being an entrepreneur has it's own profits. It's different when you're a national business.

Hmm makes sense. I still don't see how there can be random packs in a ND box... Also people! This is (hopefully) not about the packs inside but of the promo itself :/. If it isn't then I reccomend buying 4 ND packs!

Still, Zekrom EX is $10-15, Emboar is $2.00-3.00. Seems fair to me.
