Regigigas matchup? A gigas with an unown g, or even gigas in general with some techs, would seem to negate most of this deck's power.

Also, I don't see Kingdra having a bad matchup. Dialga and Azelf would be worthless, and the fact that Kingdra takes three energy to attack is negligible...you're attaching three energy to use your attack in the first place.

Personally, I think Dusknoir is fairly easy to play around, and the fact that anybody can pop in 2 or three unown g's to turn the odds is its downfall. At least gengar has a chance of ko'ing after death...Dusknoir might have a chance in win in the right metagame, but in all I think its weaknesses are too easy to exploit.

A decent dusknoir list, but the play of the deck itself is debatable for states or regionals.

maybe, but what's to say that your opponent has an Unown G EVERYTIME on a Kingdra. They can hit you for 60, you can Shadow Command and hit right back for 80 after leveling up. From there you can pull out another Dusknoir SF and hit for more damage again. Dusknoir is pretty consistent as is Kingdra, but it would matter on who would get the better setup.

For Gigas, you just let a Dusknoir X hit table, and put as fast of a clock on their bench as possible. Duskzong has a better matchup than the list in that regard, against Gigas. Trying and taking down the Gigas is possible, but silly. Just put a clock on their bench and you should be able to outrace them.

What Kingdra player attaches three energies to the same Kingdra for the first three turns? Unless they see the Night Spin coming from a mile away, that's foolhardy at best. And if they do in fact do just that, use other pokemon to put 80 damage on the Kingdra before you send up Night Spin.

How about Neo-Empoleon? Some Empoleon decks now are (almost) just as fast as Kingdra & aren't affected by Night Spin. (Using Kyogre T1 to attach energy so Empoleon can attack T-2.) Plus, they'll have more room for Unown G.

So how about Giratina X and a couple of Giratinas as techs ? ... I've been running this variant for a few matches, and if you have the right setup and need to attach only 2 energies to the 1st Dusknoir SF1 to attack and snipe for 2 or 3 turns leveled up, that gives you the ability to attach energies to the Giratina in the mean time, and when you're knocked down get the Giratina X to attack and do 50 to everyone per at least a couple more turns .. ( 10 first from the Dusknoir stadium, 30 from the attack, 10 again from the stadium ..) .. very little decks can stand a couple of turns with this much damage ... plus with 2 or 3 Level Maxes , you can get the Giratina X ( and the Uxie X for that matter ) in the bench with less hassle and have your opponent discard if they want to attack ... you can choose what to take out depending on the matchup ( Azelf X, Dialga X ) and if you don't have to do either then Giratina could be a winner against any deck ...

I'm sure more than one has tried this. Interested on your comments and view .

Trainers: 27

4 Poke Drawer+
4 Rare Candy
4 Warp Point
1 Miasma Valley
1 Moonlight Stadium
3 Bebe's Search
2 Premier Ball
1 Luxury Ball
2 Night Maintenance
3 Roseanne's Research
1 TM-S2 Devoluter

Fortunately, PokemanMaster also miscounted the Trainers (26), so no harm done. ^_^
EDIT: Never mind, I'm worse than PokemanMaster.
You are one card over.

Miasma Valley is sorely overrated in this deck.

The flexibility of free retreat without warping out your opponent's active is too great IMO.

well, that might be true, but the Miasma is to just Abuse Dusknoir's Damage Even. They already have 20 on them, so that is 20 less you have to do.

This is a wonderful article. I think it should be in the archtype deck strategies. Just a couple of items I'd like your comment on.

- Doesn't the fact that Dusknoir DP's only attack is shutdown by Unown G give you pause? I've thought of swapping in Spirit Pulse or Reaper Pulse, which is consistent with the spread strategy.

- You prefer 4x Pokedrawer+ to 4x Pokedex? Seems you burn through cards faster with Pokedex and you aren't tempted to just hold it in your hand until another comes along.

1. That's the reason I run promo D-noir over Dark Palm.
2. Trainer tutor is so crucial in this deck, in a bunch of tight matchups, it's worth the risk in my experience.

TSD is superior to Night Maintenance. With so much draw and search, the shuffle in three is superior.

Side note - testing out 'dex's.

Let us know what you find.

TSD will surely get rotated out in six months. Thats enough reason for me not to spend $70 on two. Just sayin....

I will. And I needed a TSD for Gigas so I traded my Giratina X pack for one, I'm fairly confident it'll retain enough value for the first few months after leaving rotation for me to trade off.

There is another way to get tsd. They are coming in a japanese promo 10 card pack on 4/18 for $10. Although I am not sure if it is guarantee or if it is just a little easier to get. All I know for certain is you get 6 holos per pack. Other rare cards are mewtwo lvx tin, skymin lvx tin, regiggas lvx tin, cresselia, and dialga. Darn I wish I had a friend who lives in Japan.

Or you could trade for an English copy.

Side note, I realized I can't test out 4 Pokedex - I went to swap out my drawers for them, turns out I had already taken Drawers out of my build.

This deck's a bit more viable than people are giving it credit for.

I spent some time playtesting pokedrawer+ and pokedex's tonight. Although there were a couple of times I got two pokedrawers and it was game changing, most of the time circumstances forced I just draw a card. When I went back to pokedexes, my deck went faster. With two uxies and 4 pokedex's you are in a race to get that first SF Dusknoir out or you will not be able to keep up, so I think I'll stay with the dexes.

Here's an idea I thought of for Dusknoir fans. What do you think of using a 2-2 Abomasnow line in Dusknoir? No water energy; just to play it for snow play after the stadium card is out. Not sure what I'd take out, but maybe the deck could live without 1-1 Dialga G X, only 1 Unown G and one less ball or something.
