Gengar Lv.X Question and News??

Gengar LV.X - Psychic – HP140
Level-Up

Poke-Power: Level Down
You can use this Power once during your turn. Remove the LV.X card from 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon LV.X to Level Down the Pokemon. Your opponent shuffles the removed card into his or her deck. This Power can’t be used if this Pokemon is affected by a Special Condition.

[P][P][C] Damage Pain: Does 30 damage to each of your opponent’s Pokemon that has any damage counters on it.

Weakness: Darkness (x2)
Resistance: Colorless (-20)
Retreat: 0

Straight from beach.....

30 damage to each of your opponent’s Pokemon

Gallade 4 Lv X anyone?

Dude Gengar was already broken before.
Now it can be used to mess w/a lot of junk.
I'm also guessing that somebody will try to stack level down.
I'm thinking that power locks are going to come back.

Ok first of all Glumanda was correct mainly other than like -20 to steel and stuff and second is Gengar Lv.X is ofically broken with the SF or AoA set version. The Gengar from the starter deck however is awful but the new Gastly and Haunter from the set are also broken in the long run with Gengar! I wanted him to be great to play which he is but I am terrified to battle it at this upcoming Citys in winter 2009-2010.

Wow, this game is getting insane. now even haunter can finnish off a Claydol that was Shadow Room'd, or set one up to be Shadow Room'd.

Having x2 Dark weakness isn't even that big a deal, given there are 2 new dark Pokemon in the set >.> (though Spiritomb looks annoying as anything).

I have to agree and with Gengar Lv.Xs Power it is broken on it's own without attacking. I mean use the power on a powerful Pokemon that has a Lv.X like Dialga G then attack he is unstopable!!

I think we are heading into a format that is going to be insane. Just think about next year's Worlds.
BTW an unown G'd gengar SF w/this gengar X is going to be a pain.

This thing is just crazy

I personally will be playing Gengar in the following way.

4-2-2-1-1 (2 Gengar SF, 1 Gengar AA, the one with Curse power)
2-1 Gallade Lv.X
Hopefully find room for Cress and Queen

Gengar just got better, but I think T-Tar might make a showing after this

I will play him like this....

Gengar Lv.X x1 AoA
Gengar x2 SF
Gengar x1 AoA
Haunter x2 SF
Gastly x4 (2 SF 2 AoA)

He will be a pain to battle though!! LOL

I think people will find the new Gengar's a little fragile without Fainting Spell to hide behind.

no need for cress with gengar's new power Curse The next format is going to be INSANE!!!!!! May god be with us

not a big fan of Crobat in Gengar...

But think. Cress and Curse Gengar? Plus Cress can swing for a possible 2 prizes. It might work, even with a 1-1 line
