Great event today!

Of Course it was a Great Event today Ryan.....Didn't You Win....LOL...I think everyone had
a Good time and Greg was a Great Host. I think Ryan and his group took a rest day and
headed to Alabama. I got to Birmingham around 9:30 tonight and will go to Athens in
the morning to do Battle in Northern Alabama...I thinki some Memphis and Nashville
players will show up...Looking forward to seeing Professor Clay and Rick and their crowd.

Today at McDonalds was another Great Event. Greg had 61 players to show up...Juniors
was won by Justin Whitaker over Noah Sawyer...Seniors was Austin Allen over Brandon
Cross....Master was J.C. Starley...?? (I don't think this last name is correct) from
Columbia, S.C. over Parth Shah....Charlie Finchum and Vic Pruett were 3rd and 4th.

Get some rest Guys and Gals and we will Battle our way back to Georgia for the
final event in Douglasville on Sunday....

I was on this thread for a solid three minutes, saw fragnito violate the rules, and infracted him. Who cares? He has sour grapes because I didn't ALSO infract John? Give me a break. zzzz

But yes, some good events, fun style of play. The metagame changed every day and evolved- it was fun to watch and participate in.

Hopefully next year we can do it again for a little longer. Congratulations, Jacy S, who also won with OBAMA today!

It was cool to meet Paarth and Peter, two solid players who do fun things! Maybe next time we can hang out after the tourney, eh?

GO SNOW!

Awesome event guys. My first one in over 2 years... I forgot how much fun they were!

Have a blast in Alabama.

BTW, I got a speeding ticket too :\

Leaving in the morning with a full vanload +car from Nashville. Clay and company are coming from Memphis. Looking forward to two good turnouts in Alabama.

A special congratulations to Ann-Marie Thompson our latest Senior phenom from Nashville. From what I hear, a couple of 2nd place finishes in the Georgia cities.

It feels so good to be this close to a tourney... im so used to traveling...lol. I'll leave at about 10:30-11

Done with Marathon, moving this weekend so couldnt finish it even if I wanted 2.But i had a great time with my friends and the Florida players.

I got to play against alot of good players and meet some 2.Did my best to represent GA,me and PS.

I got some points takin but also go to steal some Points:biggrin:

Cant wait til States

Nice meeting u 2 Ryan, yea we do some fun things, we should chill next time.

We will I'm sure.

You and Paarth definitely repped your state well. It's just the rest of your state that's lacking!

John Silvestro I honestly don't know what I would do with only one Mesprit. I would have prolly just done as bad as vick did.....lol, thanks for the compliments, see you guys at states.(hopefully it won't be that easy for yall to win this year.)

Vergel, yeah next time we'll hang out, and I'll show you how GOOD i play when we're not at a tourney or at a public place lol. Had fun losing to you tho, but atleast you know that there aren't any garbage players in GA. Mewtwo is so *** btw, and yeah so is abomasnow.

Fragnito, its amazing to see what people can do when they get a hold of a laptop that automatically logs into all your accounts! <3 u

PG, yeah whats the greatest card in the format?

I just got into my hotel room in Birmingham...We had 44 players in Athens, Alabama today.
Parth brought it home for Georgia over Carlos from Tennessee. In the Seniors Taylor Mitchell
won over Alex from Chattanooga...In the Juniors Richard Gerling won over Justin Whitaker
both from Georgia...

I would like to thank all the Memphis, Nashville and Chattanooga players who came down
and will be playing also in Birmingham. I think they had maybe 23 players..

All of the Florida Players have disappeared and getting some well deserved rest. I also would
like to thank you guys for your support.

I think by Sunday I will be the only one to make all 10 and will Crash for a week. It was good
to meet all of you and to get beat by most of you...It's good to put faces with names.

One of my best accomplishment I think was to have 4 Out of State PTO's participate in these
Events. Clay Mitchell was there today and was a great help in judging. I have known Clay, Keith,
and Jeff for over 5 years and played in many of their events over the years. Keith (Lawman) Haas
played in 2 events one in Franklin and one in Kennesaw.. Jeff Reynolds showed up in Pooler, Ga. to
play and came back up to Newnan for his second Event. His daughter Tracey placed first and
second in the juniors of both events. I have only know Randy Curry for about 3 years and have
learned to enjoy his knowledge of the game and to put up with all those guys he hauls around...LOL..
Randy also finished 2 in Newnan with 36 Masters. Clay will be helping me again tomorrow in
Birmingham. Thanks to ALL of these PTO's that went out of their way to help make this
Marathon such a Huge Success.. I think today after 8 days there have been a total of 420
players in 8 days with many miles traveled. Rest up Guys and Gals...Next Year will be the
Third Annual GEORGIA Marathon..Greg and I already have it semi planned.

More Reporting when I slow down...

MESPRIT and PALKIA LV.X!!!!!!!!!!!

I had so much fun I have to say once again. I played in Athens,AL before at BRs,it was a nice store and had fun there.

Great the marathon is going well,Greg and Gary do a great job running tournaments and organizing them.

Ryan V, yea we will, I cant wait, States should be amazing.

Gary: Thx again for putting this together. YOU are the driving force behind the marathon and we all appreciate it! 10 straight days allows some of us PTOs the chance to step out a PLAY for a bit. Always good to see ya! GA and AL are very lucky to have you down there! Now, next year, you may have to find a few larger venues. I think the library in Franklin has seen its last CC. High 30's packed in a room built for 20. LOL

Keith

Thanks for the kind words Keith. Actually there were 47 in the Franklin Library. We may can
push it to 60...??? ..LOL.. We are continually looking for Venues to Host our Events and
do what we do...Grow Pokemon. I was told 18 months ago when I came up with the idea that
the Holidays were not a good time for Pokemon Events. I knew better...I knew that players
enjoy traveling and Children are out of school...So I did it myself with 4 in a row to suceed
or fail...Thankfully it succeeded and Greg and I started last year planning and scheduling the
10 in a Row....It was a HUGH Success thanks to all the PTO's and Players around the South
East. I will get all the numbers posted soon...But Newnan had 58..Douglasville 55...Kennesaw
62...Lawrenceville 84....and Marietta 61 in a McDonalds's of all places...Thankfully this
McD's could seat 100 and it has a 20 plus weekly league there. We were told to stay away
from malls and fast foods...Go Figure....These are places when kids hang out...?? Thanks Keith,
for all of your support...And also the support of Randy Curry, Jeff Reynolds and Clay Mitchell
and all of your players...You Guys Rock and Make Pokemon what it is today.

See You Guys & Gals on the "Pokemon Trail",

Gary,

I just wanted to say thanks from Taylor, Carlos and myself.

We had a great time in Alabama and I know we will try to make it again next year. Hopefully with even more folks 9as long as I don't have to drive them). It was fun meeting all the new folks and showing the new players the ropes.

Excluding myself, for the weekend Taylor and Carlos managed to grab themselves a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes between Birmingham and Nashville....Man those Nashville kids have gotten so good compared to where they were last year.:thumb:

I, of course, should continue doing what I do best....running tournaments

See everyone at Nats I guess.!!

Gary,

Its always fun to travel and play down in Georgia and I'm glad you're now including Alabama. I'm always game for loading up the wife's mini-van and carting a bunch of kids your way.

For Athens, we actually had a full van and two carloads for a total of 15. 14 of us even played. I'm betting you weren't expecting that kind of invasion :thumb:

Clay, thanks for the compliment on the Nashville kids. We have a nice solid core group that enjoys playing each other and we just feed off of that.

In Athens, Nashville was able to take a third place in Seniors (I think)

In Birmingham, Michael from Nashville pulled out the first place match with a very nice battle with Taylor. Evan managed the third place finish

For future events look out for my little 5 yr old. She placed third in the Nashville CC with a 3-1 record.

Take care,

Rick
