Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

GG vs. Plox

So what if I called my GG "Plox" way before they did?

Not saying I did, but what if?

Do they have copyright?

No.

I'm going to continue to call my build Plox, and unless I make a huge change to it, it will stay that way.

Ok plain and simple,if your aren't in Team R then you can't use the name PLOX since they came up with the name and its theirs. Their lists are PLOX and everybody else is Gardilade or GG.

What are they gonna do? Tie me up and take all my Pokemanz?

although this is a LOL, get back on topic

imo i really dont see BIG differences in GG and plox

they use GG but use one over the other

both use claydol/wager

both use psychic cut/lock

theres no difference >.<

...You know that a format is completely stale when people are debating if a Gardelade deck is actually Gardelade or not.

All PLOX does is add 1 more Gardy SW and takes away one Gallade.
It's just a variation of GG and shouldn't be its own deck.

Does it really matter their both really good decks IMO and have won fairly (majority) good amount of tournaments so screw the whole controversy of the decks decks and lets play some pokemon
NOW WHOSE WITH ME YEAH!!! last part was just joking but seriously who cares if TeamR thinks their the originators and believe they have a better build than anybody else Big Wolf " "
^

Yeah guys, who cares!

TEAM R sucks!
TEAM R is not number one!
TEAM R is not more successful than us!
TEAM R is not more popular than us!
TEAM R does not make us feel inferior!

I don't feel anything against or for Team R. Besides, the first statement can never be true. SotG makes it so no one sucks at Pokemon.

Gardevoir and Gallade is such a boring deck to play at a big tournament. The mirror is the most boring thing in the world. Psychic lock for 80/90/120 your turn. Draw, Psy Lock. Draw Psy Lock. I hated ever time i did it. It's probably going to win Nationals and Worlds. I wouldn't be surprised. Not at all.

Can one claim ownership of a deck based off of two Pokemon which both evolve from the same Basic?

People can claim anything they want. What can they prove, that's what I care about. "I thought of that first!" is kind of hard to prove, like conspiracy... you need a lot of testimony. Most members making that case just go for bullying or whining (depending on their power base) or try to use ad hominem proofs (i.e. believe it because he/I said so!). Bleah!

"I won with that combo at this event, which was the first time it was played for a win," is something you can prove & more power to you!

Scoreboard >>> words.

One carbon atom is the difference between a disinfectant and an intoxicant, one more is the difference between the intoxicant and poison. Maybe the difference in lists is not so insignificant.

We aren't claiming to have been the first to put in claydol, or up the wager count to 4, or drop gallades down to 2 and gardevoirs up to 3/1.

It's the evolution, style, and card variation that I think warrants a different name. PLOX has never looked like the other more standard GG lists out. Even now, when PLOX features (claydol over furret, 4 wager, 4 dre, etc) become more popular our lists STILL look different.

I feel like I'm beating a dead horse. How is this a different scenario than any other deck? Just because my PLOX deck has a ralts evo line does NOT make it the same deck as anyone else's deck. That's where I think people have a misunderstanding.

Yamato's thin infernape line in empoleon changed the deck up quite a bit, and the 10-15 card difference in a PLOX list certainly changes the style and options that we have compared to a normal GG build.

I think you got it perfectly there. Just because the difference is small, it doesn't mean there will be a small difference in the results.

The fact still remains that we're four pages deep in a now circular-moving thread about the difference between GG and PLOX. If the two big decks (the word "two" used in passing, not in submission) people are worried about both use the same primary evolution line for attacking and (to a lesser extent) set-up, the format is utterly retarded.

Even the OHmiGOSHuGUYSrock teams are reduced to holding a slightly "superior" list of a pre-existing deck over our heads, as opposed to doing so with an entirely new deck.

Yeah, but in this instant we're talking about two intoxicants, lol.

I think it is more of a disinfectant, to tell you the truth. Bugs are weak to psychic.

2x Touché

However, I think I made my on-topic point. At least one person got it.

Please don't waste staff time by calling for locks. Please don't post trash and get infractions.

The thread either dies of its own accord or boredom. If its time for the thread to stop, stop posting in it.

Plox and GG are two differnt decks. Plox uses 3 gardy SW GG uses 2 gardy. and GG is more on techs and plox is all wagers and claydols ftw.
