Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

How to beat the Deck above you...

^^^^Deck was Amphytric^^^^

This is an easy one. Aggro Rampardos (or whatever you wanna call it). Sets up waaaaay faster, has weakness advantage, hits hard and fast, doesn't run too many powers beyond Uxie. And that shouldn't matter because Rampard will hit you so fast you won't have time to get your Pokés out.

^^^^Deck was Rampardos^^^^

Play Dusknoir/Gengar. Start with Gastly, and prevent the opponent from playing Rare Candy, which every good Aggro Rampardos relies on.
You may be able to abuse Dusknoir's second attack- prevent your opponent from attacking it if it has less than 3 energy attahced to it. (and hey, why not Mr. Mime for fun?) Just hope they don't play enough energy to attach 3 to Rampardos.

I suppose that they were thinking they ran 2-2 Dialga G or something.

Deck was Dusknoir Gengar

I counter with T-Tar / Weavile / Omastar / 3 Unown G. Hit for weakness, spread, avoid damage counters, and devolve for final KO avoiding Gengar's power.

The deck above me is Ttar /Weavile /Omastar /3 Unown G.

I counter with Rampardose with a 4-4-4 line, 4 Rare Candy, 4 BTS, 4 Lake Boundary, 4-4 Claydol,2 Uxie, 4 Switch, 4 Warp Point, 4 Radar, 4 Pokeball, 4 Lux Ball, 4 Roseanne, Energy, other stuff.

Good luck beating that with Ttar. :p

^^^ deck above is Ramparidos PT w/ Candies and Boundary...

Let's have some fun.

Counter = KABUTOPS / 2 Regirock / 4 Groudon / 4 Mesprit LA

Since I think you've forgotten to build for a FOSSIL based deck and you whiff on the Skull Fossils to get that thing going well.

I'll use YOUR Broken Time Space to run straight up with Fossil Excavotor and Radars/Dusk balls.
Bump your stadium for Starks
lock your power w/ mesprit and lock your trainers T2 ...

Groudon start for quick attachment on Kabutops , warp in for Trainer lock with loaded tops T2 ...
Benched Groudon gets Regirock + turn energy for backup attack when you finally ko the Tops ...
Energy switches.. and Starks ... so only my energy accelerates..

Comment: Trying to work in some rogue ideas to break up monotony a little

Deck above is Kabutops/Regirock/Groudon/Mesprit

I'll counter it with: Empoleon/Giratina/Lunatone

I'll use broken time space to evolve Empoleon, then discard it with Lunatone.

Deck above me is Empoleon/Giratina/Lunatone

i'll counter it with Raichu stormfront with Weaviles to charge up and 4 lake boundries and voltage shoot to OHKO lunatones

Another great thread by Mr. Rogue A.

So the thread doesn't get so repetitive I think we need to step this up a little. Here is a suggestion, from here we start naming some counter tech to the bad match-ups for the deck posted. Example:

Deck: Blastoise/Delcatty

Counter: A Manectric/Ampharos (Pl) that uses Uxie/X (LA) to set up. Uxie Lv.X is also a useful attacker vs. Psychic weak decks or techs like Machamp or Toxicroak G, maybe even G decks. If you start with it has a good chance at T2 80.

So right away 2 counter decks that would probably beat Manectric/Ampharos, were made a closer match-up by listing a tech that would help even up the match-up...

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Another example:

Deck: Blaziken/Typhlosion

Counter: Kingdra Swarm with Dialga G Lv.X tech. The Dialga G Lv.X could help even up the Manectric/Ampharos, some Grass deck match-ups by shutting up Shaymin Lv.X (Land Forme) match-up, and any other body deck. Vs. Manectric/Ampharos if the Kingdra player can keep a good swarm going, it puts the Amphytrick player on a tough position. They have to choose beat taking out Kingdras or taking out Claydols and Uxies. Kingdra can even set up OHKOs by hitting the second Manectric on the bench. Then KO with a Buck's or PP when it comes up. Later in the game it can even OHKO with Aqua Stream all while Manectric is 2HKO it.

This time I even listed some plays for the Kingdra player. There some counter plays Amphytrick can pull like powering up an Ampharos (SW) and possibly building up 2HKOing on 2 consecutive Kingdras. But maybe I'm getting too ahead of myself here and the plays suggestions/analysis could come further down the thread.

What do you guys think?

Deck: A Manectric/Ampharos (Pl) that uses Uxie/X (LA) to set up.

Counter: Rampardos PT.

Nailing your weakness and not being completely reliant on powers to setup means Ramp is hardly hindered by your locking nature. Add in AmphyTric's low damage output, and the game is sealed.

Deck above is Rampardos

Counter: Vespiquen/Cherrim/Magikarp
Use Magikarp as a starter to draw cards, and promote a Rampardos donk. Then Vespiquen cleans up the mess.

The deck above Me was Vespiquen/Cherrim/Magikarp

Counter Blaziken Heatran w/ 2 PT blaziken/2 GE

Snipe Cherrim With the GE blaziken Then just Sweep with the PT one

The above deck is Empoleon PT.

Counter-deck: Tangrowth/Sceptile w/ Rotom & Unown G tech

Use Tangrowth's resistance to Water to reduce the damage output of Empoleon. Use Wild Growth enhanced Power Whip to Snipe useful support cards (or Empoleon) and Stick and Absorb directly on Empoleon to recover damage and knock out Empoleon.

Use Rotom mid-game to quickly charge 2nd/3rd Tangrowth, as needed, which should also make Dialga G Lvl X less damaging to the deck, as Tangrowth can then snipe it for reasonable damage. Unown G protects Tangrowth and Sceptile from attack effects.

The deck above me is infernape ^^^^

(You realize that rampardos's body allows it to bypass night spin right?)
night spin still works, the other effect with the energies isnt damage

:pbody: iron skull

RAMPARDOS'S ATTACKS's DAMAGE isn't affected by resistence pokepowers pokebodies or any other effects on the defending pokemon

first of all its rampardos doing damage to the opponent secondly even if it were the second effect of night spin isnt damage
