How will ex's affect the meta today?

This reminds me of what a certain Mr Incredible once said.

"Can't stop it, the only thing hard enough to penatrate it is... Itself"

My ex doesn't even know that Pokemon exists, how would she affect the meta?

Judging by previous events, knowledge and statistics, it is quite obvious that this "ex" of yours will have a huge impact on the current meta game, for she could be holding the ultimate combination of skill, luck and deck building that would take the whole nation, no, pokemon world by storm, by the use of something the likes of us have never previously witnessed.

Or, considering the pokemon are called EX, not ex pokemon, she will have no effect on the current metagame, but might have had an effect on the game around 5/6 years ago.

Evidently she was rotated out of your ga...life a few years ago, so she's probably a little cranky about that.

In fact there are probably a lot of people who were around then that remind you constantly that those were the golden years of your life and that everything started going downhill after you got rid if your ex. Of course, people who never knew your ex don't understand this at all.

No, it hasn't. Then again I see by your signature you don't like to acknowledge answers. ;)

Mewtwo EX is broken, but there are many counters to it. I hate the fact that the format has come to this (since it was such a good format before), but you either play mewtwo EX, or counter it, doing neither means you won't do very well at states. :C

How do you figure, especially for for Magneboar (since nothing else really plays it anyway) RDL will likely have one energy left after attacking, so Mewtwo with a DCE will be doing 120 damage, which isn't knock out.

When I played MagneBoar, I usually attached 2 Lightning to RDL, but I guess an intelligent player wouldn't do that against Mewtwo. Also, Mewtwo EX/Celebi will probably be playing 4 PlusPower, since it has the room, and all it will need it one PlusPower, a DCE, and 1 energy on RDL to kill it.

We're also deliberately overlooking the fact that, thanks to Celebi, Mewtwo will usually have more than one energy on it anyway.

Not every deck will be playing Mewtwo EX/Celebi. And still IMO a trade off of you giving up 2 prize cards isn't that bad when you get 3 prizes off of the knock out.

Ironically the best counters for Mewtwo EX are:

Mewtwo EX
[DEL]Mew Prime[/DEL]
Cobalion

These Xatu, Weezing bs cards will not work. Those [DEL]three[/DEL] two will be the best.

I just explained why Mew Prime won't work as a Mewtwo ex counter and yet you're in denial about it? Weezing is actually good, only problem is that your opponent still gets a prize while you're getting 2.

MD-On 2.0? It's like the Rotation never happened, where's my Sableye SF? >_>

Decks I see being played heavily:

Celebi/Mewtwo
Emboar/Mewtwo
Elektrik/Mewtwo
Tyram/Mewtwo
Cobalion/Mewtwo

Not every deck will play Celebi, but many will. Celebi is still fairly easy to come by atm, and does in fact offer a quick accelerator to Mewtwo. Just plan on everyone running 4 switch from now on.

What SP had:

  • A means to cut down energy costs available only to SPs
  • A Supporter that can search for ALL of the necessary cards for an SP Pokemon to function
  • A Pokemon that can heal damage from all other SP Pokemon with a non-attack
  • A means to stop Powers with no downside
  • Cheap Attackers with low HP

What EX's have:

  • High HP attackers with average attack costs
  • No proprietary card engine unique to just the EX's
  • The caveat of losing 2 prizes a turn
  • Eviolite (but this is not unique to the Ex's)

So...no, you're wrong.

It won't work anymore cause Kyurem's Glaciate makes Mew Prime unplayable even If you Heal Stall with Butterfree HS and/or Togekiss UD LZ'ed, even If you See Off Jumpluff to use Mass Attack with Mew Prime, Kyurem can just 2HKO all your Mew's for multiple prizes. If you Heal Stall you're either forced to use Switch or waste discarding attached energies just to bring in a new Pokemon that is already setup to be donked.

Mew Prime just doesn't cut it anymore both Casually and Competitively, seriously though you're better off using Cobalion NV or Weezing CoL to counter Mewtwo ex or use Mewtwo ex yourself for the 1st attack since it only costs a DCE to use. It's also splashable in Reshiphlosion and since it has a max HP of 180 it will still survive with Eviolite attached, yeah Mewtwo ex is probably going to break the format not as bad as Pokemon Catcher, well maybe.

eviolite mew. :|

I'm loling at anyone trying weezing.

But you won't always be able to Eviolite Mew, what are the odds of having multiple Eviolites attached to each of your Mews? Slim isn't it? What If the Eviolites are in your prizes or better yet what If you're not able to attach them all? The luck of the draw is what makes it less viable.
