Will there be any events during the time in which this set will be the newest set? Or do the events (cities, battle roads) start after the NEXT set is released?
BattleRoads will use Legends Awakended. Cities start after this set is released.

Note the new translation on Raichu lv. X ... discard two lighting from your hand for his attack. That's a change from the first translation that said discard two that were attached.

Many cards seem too good. It almost angers me.

The Top 5
Most offensive combos:
1. Machamp + Lumineon
(Seriously....)
2.Regigigas + 150 HP Basic
(Can't be worse than the Faries...right!?)
3.Heatran + Magmortar
(Did we really to go from using a Stage2/Firestarter to Stage1/EnergyForcer to Basic/Heatwave)
4.Gengar + Heads
(If Gengar can snipe for P and 50/50 knock out any active that attacks him, does Gengar afraid of anything?)
5. Tyranitar + 5 Dark Energy
(Because of its Dark secondary type, Tyranitar are insolent and selfishly uncaring towards others.-bulbapedia)

This set is just amazing...there are quite a number of decks which can be built thanks to this set. I am currently trying to find a good strategy with the new Salamence...also for those intrested in Regigigas you can play it with Unown E and Snowpoint Temple and you have yourselves a 180 HP basic...

Is it just me, or is Machamp going to beat AMU into a fine little pile of dust or what?

IDK. It's like MAD (mutually assured distruction) Champ OHKOs all the faeries but has weakness to them as well (hello lake boundary). He's a stage 2 vs their basic ... but he only needs 1 energy to their 2 to really be effective. It would be fun to see this match.

I get the feeling that they're trying to stick true to what they did with the alternative typings on the starters, make it so even through weakness, they can beat guys that they wouldn't normally beat.

For example, Torterra's ground type can sneak through Infernapes Fire type, and Infernapes Fighting can knock off Empoleons Metal.

A little weird, isnt it??? I dont really like the New Empoleon, Hard to believe, but it is a MAD tech, I guess! I really like Sableye( Who doesnt?), Steelix( Marowak d?), Salamence( built in Scramble, kinda!), and there a Few others that are going to be so OVerpalyed, like Shaymin, but its good!

I think the next format will Really be, maybe, 3X better than this format. Both New sets open alot of decks to be made, Rogue or Archetype, I have ALREADY got lots of ideas myself for both sets, cant wait!!!

Bubble Orb or w/e its called can stop weakness.

I think that machamp should come out on top

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Good luck even getting a Machamp out against AMU. While you try and set up I do 20dmg + weakness to your pokemon. Thats t1, by t2 I can posibly do 60dmg+ weakness, and by t3 I should be fully set up with back ups should you ever get a Machamp out. I do think that this matchup will be determind very early on by who gets a better start, and will be very interesting to see. A t1 Machamp could be very bad for the AMU player.

Oh, hello, Shaymin; Torterra thanks you for the 200HP, btw.

And here at the Snow Point Temple, even you, little Turtwig, now have 120HP.

Garchomp's Restore on discarded Torterra + Torterra leveling up next turn on the bench + Shaymin Lv.X + Snow Point Temple + Unown E = Torterra Lv.X with 230HP.

Or in Unlimited,
Sabrina's Gastly - 40 HP
Opponent's Smeargle Paints Gastly Grass, your Shamin X is benched - 80 HP
Opponent's Snow Point Temple - 100 HP
Energy Root Attached - 120 HP
You have 4 cards in play previously mentioned, and 1 prize card remaining. Therefore 55 other cards. They are all basic psychic energies attached to Gastly - 670 HP

Cards that affect both Poké-Powers and Poké-Bodies affect Pokémon Powers. Energy Root is one such card.

I would have so much fun playing the Regigigas deck. too bad the other Regis are terrible cards.
But the Regigigas Lv X would make that so much fun to play. 170 hp (snowpoint), heals itself 80, while powering itself, and hits for 100 while discarding a card from the hand and deck (IIRC). Sounds like fun, although it might not be competitive enough.
