Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Is Gyarados a Suicide Play for States?

Other counter stadiums? Pretty sure that noone will run any other stadiums apart from Lost World and BTS in 99% of Gengar variant decks. And seriously, Lostgar is not going to win against Gyarados in a timed format. Trust me. And nothing else.

In fact, Gyarados have the best speed, power lock, discard engine and consistency, while Gengar only have the trainer lock - AND NOTHING ELSE.

Do yourself a favour, leave this thread alone for all of us, please Xicious.

Thank you. :nonono::nonono::nonono:

Basically I see two people who think their deck is oh so good.

STOP TALKING ABOUT HOW YOUR DECK IS BDIF, kthxbai

With Gdos, I feel like if you face one VileGar or a good Dialga player in cut, your day is done. However, It's a solid tier 1 deck. If you want to actually win a states, don't play Dos. If you want to help your rating, you might consider it, although IMO there are still better options.

States is about to get crazy...

Now I know that on paper, this looks pretty bad. But the really amazing thing is, when I tested it out the other night, Luxchomp got a quick Weavile G out on me, so I was all “Twins for Promocroak G and Energy Gain, attach Psychic, and bam KO!” I didn’t get a single Gengar out that game, but that single turn was pretty awesome. You should’ve seen the face of my opponent. We then tested the DialgaChomp matchup – similar story with me getting the Manectric G out until my opponent realized how inconsistent my deck was. He went on to just destroy me with Garchomp C or an Uxie or something, but in my mind I counted it a victory since I was able to break the Deafen lock. Can’t argue with those results, now can you? :<

In other news, Gyarados is a pretty solid play for States in my opinion. Gotta work on your build though. :D

my Hurley (LostGar) runs a Honchkrow line to pull all your magikarps out of the discard, plus a Palkia G to send them to the lost zone, plus mime jr/chatot so I can take them off the top of your deck, plus a vileplume line so you can't use Junk arm to discard them, plus 4 Mesprit so you can't ever discard them with Regice, plus a Devolutor and 4 crobat G and 4 poketurn, and If all else fails I also run a 2-2 Luxray line with 2 lightning and 2 expert belt. oh and Miasma valley and I start with Absol Prime so you can't ever put a Magikarp down unless you remove my stadium which I'll super glue to the table so you can't.
I can get this all out turn 1 100% of the time, even under trainer lock and power lock.

COME AT ME BRO!

Walrus, Eriknamce. No offense but in my very HONEST opionion but your Lostgar list attempts is nothing but full of inconsistency and will not win on a higher percentage, since the MOST important factor other than consistency is speed, good starts, and in the case of 30+3 is that you CANNOT waste time on anything that is not hurling.

Erik, your strategy may be good but no, those things you have done is LUCK-BASED, seeing you took the advantage of "Surprise factors" as I am 100% sure you faced opponents were not fully smart and well expected to know the matchup at its finest.

And Walrus, I must say that your post is full of RUBBISH. Once again, full of rubbish. I must say that half of your post is unrealistic and will not happen in most cases, And I am not gonna waste time arguing with you since I know you attempted to troll/sarcast and still, FAIL TROLLING/SARCASM IS FAIL.

Peace out!

Walrus was being sarcastic. There's a diff between sarcasm and trolling. Curious, how many Uxies have all of you guys been putting in your LostGars?

LOL Either you don't know a deck is only 60 cards, or you've never heard of what consistency means !

OR: he's making fun of people who theorymon a tech for every single situation when talking about their deck . . .

...........You mad?

I did enjoy the way he edited his post once he realised it was sarcasm.

It's not pointless sarcasm either.

Every deck/match up discussion on the Gym gets ruined by people claiming they have every tech for every situation while maintaining consistency.

It's either dodgy playtesting or people are willing to make their deck look like a pile of crap rather than admit they have a bad match up on a Pokemon message board.

And I thought your other build was inconsistent until I saw this. Haha no offense. And walrus. . . um. . . enough said.

Vilegar is tough for gdos, but certainly not terrible. As for dialga, I think gdos has a pretty good matchup. But both of these decks have been around for a while and gdos has still been more succesful. It's a good luxchomp you have to worry about.

quit trolling you filthy poopsack. You're not even funny.

Nobody's trolling. He's being sarcastic to make a point. Just read posts a little earlier by me and Nance.

Says the guy with "1st Place worlds 2010 with Arceus" in his sig?

Again, walrus and nance we're being sarcastic. They couldnt have made it any more obvious.

I honestly would be a little more hopeful with lost gar, but for the fact you have to win every game by putting 6 pokemon into the lost zone in 30M + 3 Turns. Seroiusly, have people played real matches in a timed format on this? It is really tough to do this consistently. If you don't put 6 in the lost zone, you lose. 5 lost zone, vs. 3 prizes, you still lose.

i did some testing in mirror most games were 6 pokemon were lz it was 20 min at max
