'Kay Good Luck.. (Kyogre/Groudon Legend)

Jirachi was just mentioned like a page ago. And ya no offense but that list looks wayto luck based. U have to get at least 3 energy of of legend box to get it out. And then one in your hand. Also I'd rather not takethe auto loss to vilegar. And magnezone stops you with tomb

we tried to it the way he did it and it was to slow for our liking in cali. I went 4-4 would have been 6-2 but i misplayed twice proudofme. Im not sayen his deck build isnt bad im just sayen while he going for consistency we went the speed route. You have factor in idk where ele is located and what everyone is playen there.

nope thats the point of junk arm and the dialga

I get that you have dialga and stuff, and u have a few tries to do it. But u need to get both legends and 3/4 energy of of a legend box. Seems way to risky. And ok everyone misplays but still 4-4 :/

Dang it Eleki, you and your rogues. First you obliterate me with Abomasnow/DCL, and now you think this up for states. I honestly wish I could come up with things like you do, because they always seem to do rather well. Congrats on top at states, and if you want to come up with a super dope deck for me at worlds I wouldn't complain :)

I went up against KGL at states and destroyed it with Sablelock. But dude played it with Magnezone, so I don't consider that a fair matchup.

X-1 or 2 (forgot, so sue me) vs Vilegar in testing/tournements...

did any of you even read the match-up? literally 5 or 6 ppl have said that exact same thing. you dont get gatr out. ill say this for the third time again i guess:

set up kgl manually (3 turns dce+2 waters) wait for them to take a prize against sableye (or not it really doesnt matter). if they did kill you then use twins to get a second kgl piece on bench. then lookers urself in and draw 1 card. gengar now hits for 30 damage or 60 if you draw another trainer next turn. it generally takes 3 mills to ko vileplume. so you will have a 4 card hand. in testing 1-2 have been trainers rest can be played. they usually do not ko the active kgl ever cuz u dont keep enough tss in ur hand. while they are trying to kill u just set up the bench one. eventually plume dies, trainers are free to use, easy match up

But... WHY?
Why not just run the 1 Croconaw so you don't have to manually setup? You just wouldn't play it when it can be sniped. Plus, who says you will kill Vileplume? If you weren't damaging my active Gengar at all I'd be saving Seekers for Vileplume.

I tested a little while ago with croc and it did absolutely nothing. Against gengar u don't need to get GAtr up. Also killing plume is just a side effect of the attack. It's not really needed to win..

you never really know...and its not like it would be taking up space in the deck since it can be just as easily used as water as it can dark, fighting, or psychic...

"You never really know" Is not a valid reason. The chances are so slim it isn't worth it.

Without the Croconaw, this deck folds to a Gengar/Vileplume that knows what it's doing. If they aren't dumb, they won't activate Twins early. Trainer lock + not being able to use Twins hurts this deck badly. Essentially, they only need to KO one KGL and they win because without Feraligatr (which you can't get on the field w/o Croconaw), you can't really recover. Contrary to what you've said, Gegnar CAN KO a KGL relatively easily. They will generally get a few Shadow Rooms in before you can start to Mega Tidal Wave, and with no discard outlet, you're basically relying on your Lookers to reduce your trainer count. Of course, by using Lookers to draw only a few cards, you're reducing the Poltergeist ability, but basically kissing all chances of recovery and set up past that point goodbye, due to the small hand you're forced to keep.

tl;dr - play the damn croconaw. :p

I loooove this deck though. Thanks for posting it on the front page, it's very underrated and while I feel that some of your match-ups are skewed it's a very original and surprisingly strong deck you've put together and had success with. Props.

^haha ive listed croc as a tech. i expect 99% of people are going to play it if they choose this deck. so no big argument here its just player preference.

Brilliant article, thanks for the post, I have to try it out sometime, I love rogue decks.

I'd love to see a mirror match between these two decks, haha.

P.S. When he says he doesn't need Fera in Vilegar Matchup, he means it, what good is it for? Manually setting up equals the speed of the time it takes vilegar to set up, as they have to do it manually too.

i was thinking of using this deck and thought to myself that a 1-1 line of floaztel x might be good for this b/c if KGL were to be knocked out, it could be put right back into your hand. do you think that could work? also, this is a noob question, but if i have both halves of a legend in my first draw, can i play that or would i have to have a basic first? thanks!

^ you can't start with a legend. You need a basic. It says right on the card that it gets played to the bench. Kinda the opposite of a lv X.

if I ran this, I would tech in a toxicroak G for the machamp matchups.
