He got 1st by getting a GIFT in the semi's....read his Report. Jason gave him the SD victory. So, I guess getting the right friend in the semi's (with a trip) helped Mossy. I guess if he lost the trip and the OTHER player was GIFTED into the finals....he woulda griped then about being ripped! Grow up, play the game and earn the trip :) Obv. you know how to play the game well.....it just takes a few more manners and a bit of humility to go a bit further.

*shrugs* What else is new? Remember the 'play to WIN!' thread, where people were declaring how they'd play everything out, not conceed, etc....but when push came to shove, depending on who one was and who they were friends with...=/

Meh...

There were more players at my City Challenge than at most of the UK states tournaments...

Life just isn't fair!

I remember that thread too 'Mom and I recall saying that if they ended up across from their "friend", they would concede. Oh no they said...too much bling-bling, etc to get ....Hindsight is 20/20 I guess.

After talking to the PUI rep at the MtnW Regionals about some CA players who were discussing how they were going to concede during the playoffs if they played each other (they were colluding in my oppinion because one of the CA players was a previous trip-winner) and hearing the PUI rep say that "you can't stop players from conceding," I don't think there's anything wrong with Matt's friend conceding (unless of course they swapped prizes -- a BIG no-no). If PUI is going to allow previous trip-winners to recompete, this can happen.

Congrats Matt.

I've never met Adam before in my life. He didn't concede to me because he was my friend (although I hope I made a new friend on Sunday!), he did it because he was a nice guy. Quit disrespecting Adam by saying he only conceded to me because he was my friend. I was essentially a total stranger and he just did something really nice by letting me play for a trip!

Synopsis: I'm a crybaby lucksac donk! But I can't help it!!!!! I'm going to worlds LOVE YA MOM :) C U THURR :smile::smile::smile::smile::smile::smile::smile:

Yeah, I can clearly say, Moss and Adam did not know each other, except by reputation.

It was a bit entertaining seeing Adam have Moss by the throat....and knowing he was at his ENTIRE mercy. Me thinks Adam enjoyed it a swell me did.

I really like the way Adam did it, conceding after letting the other player know he was beaten...the ego of Moss must be hurting pretty severely, knowing but by the grace of Adam he would still be travelling the country desperately seeking his trip.

That will be a 1337 rematch to see if it ever comes up in the elimination rounds of Nationals or Worlds...a position I can see both of those players in!

Moss[y], the lucksac donk.

There's a song there, I know it.
Why is the tune to "Casper, the Friendly Ghost" going through my head now?

Yeah Mossy is basically 0-3 in sudden death this year. I can't take the heat! :'(

Honestly winning the trip to worlds felt better than winning the STS. Because winning the STS is like the conclusion. I don't really remember who I played round 5 or like what strategy I used during the game, but I remember all the fun times I had, all the cool people I hung out with and all the friends I made. I wanted to go to worlds so bad, not just to play, but to have all the adventures and take part in all the stories that go on instead of reading about them later :'(

I WILL SEE YA'LL THERE :):):) MOSSY THE "MID MAJOR" PLAYER IS GOING TO THE DANCE!
