Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

List of City Championship Locations/Dates

I know the possibility of a player winning in a state outside of their home state has been brought up...

...So here is my scenario. Tentatively, I am planning to travel to North Carolina to compete in the Charlotte City Championship. Now, if I were to win, from what I have read, is that my VIP Package would go to my home state of Ohio. So here's my question...

Do I HAVE to play in MY State Championship of Ohio? Or am I able to travel again to North Carolina for the State Championship? Or would I be elgible for one or the other? Both?

I would think that I would have my choice on where I would like my package sent. Unless of course the State Championships have residency restrictions unless the OPEN City Championships...

Any thoughts? Can someone out there offer some insight?

Thanks in advance guys,

From what I have seen and been told your VIP package will be sent to your home State Championship. Im sure at the City Championships the TOs will take you name and information so PUI can work it out were to send you VIP package. This doesnt mean you have to play in your State Championship, but if you want your VIP package you will have to go there.

You can play in as many State Championships as you would like as long as they are on different areas. They are open to everyone to come and play, so you could travel to North Carolina and play there if you want, but the VIP package is sent to Ohio.

From what I know of the VIP package they will be sent to the TO running the State Championship to be given out then and not to the players home. Your VIP package would be sent to your home State Championship , not to North Carolina you can not decided which one you want it sent to. This is what I have heard.

Just wondering... What if in the event your from a state like New Hampshire... where we don't have a State Championships. Say a player drives to the Maine City Championships and wins there. Will their VIP package be sent to the Massachusetts State Championships or the Maine State Championships (since both those states are the only New England states to run a City Championship). I know I'm getting into the "what if" questions but who knows what my leaguers will come up with when I hand out the championship flyers ;)

Marril,

None of the State Championships have been anounced yet only the City ones. I do know that is a CC is held in a state, even if there is only one, then they will have a State Championship. I could not tell you what will happen in the case if no CC is held in a state, and players play in another win a VIP packs what will happen. I guess PUI will cross that road when they get to it. My question is that if you have a good turn out at your league that you are handing out flyers, how come the store didnt apply for a City Championship for your area?

Date and time change to the Stafford,Va. CC.It will be on Feb. 21st.Registration is from 10am-11am.Will make a thread in the near future.:)

I'd like to apologize in advance if this is starting to make this topic drift a little off course. Believe me, I do everything in my state for OP as possible. Being under 18, I'm unable to apply to become a TO and Sanction tournaments. But I am over 15, professor, and league leader (thanks to the store for at least allowing me to apply for a league status). The store I run the league at doesn't have enough space to host a tournament... we can fit maybe 8 players comfortably, but can fit 15 if we condense it elbow to elbow... another venue would need to be looked into to run such at thing (and the store agrees on this so it doesn't affect their traffic flow either). Also I was explaining the idea of running a Sanctioned tournament at the local gameing convention my store runs, but the store owner didn't seem to thrilled with the idea of POP Sanctioned events, and collecting players info to submit via Internet, etc. Another problem with sanctioning events, there isn't anyone up here that has a strong rules knowledge and lack of the want to help promote the game and run OP besides me. I would run tournaments if I could. I would run a City Championship if I could. But I'm under 18, and PUI set their restrictions just out of reach for me. But my quest for doing whatever I can for this game continues :)

It is a good quest to have, I wish you the best on it. :thumb:

New events have been added to the Tournament Finder on Pokemon-tcg including an event in San Diego, 3 in Indiana, and one in Sedalia MO

Without going back and reading all the many posts - have we established that the TO can safely edit the CC tournament info (add details, etc) without being permanently knocked off the listing???

TIA!
:D

Yes you can now go in and edit your Tournament info without it getting removed. If you need proof check out any of the Indiana events. I just did it to all 4. :)

Hi Everybody I´m From mexico and i´d like to report that the city championship hold at Distrito Federal Norte, was a mess, the TO (Abraham Carrillo) doesn´t know anything of tournament organizing, he doesn´t know nothing about rules, doesn´t have the support of pokemon professors, more info here http://www.pokegym.net/showthread.php?t=4463

I´ve heard that another City championship will be hold, and will be organized by one master proffessor, ives R. I don´t know what the R means, but it hears better, and also cheaper and say that will be according to what nintendo said.

Don´t you know what can be done, with this "Tournament Organizer" (Abraham Carrillo)

Abraham Carrillo's first tournament isn't until March 27th according to the event locator for City Championships. So this can't be true.
