Here is the breakdown to the afterdrafts:

I charge $15.00 to pass-draft 5 packs.

At that point, everyone is guaranteed one prize pack (6 packs)

The winner and 2nd place person split one pack per person above their guarantee (so if there are 12 players, the winner gets 8 more packs, and the 2nd place person gets 4 more packs)

So, for everyone it is $15.00 for 6 packs
for the 2nd place player - it is $15.00 for 10 packs
for the 1st place player - it is $15.00 for 14 packs

Jared, how did you get 7 packs when you only drafted 5?

the deckbox suck. it's too tight a fit. you have to dig the cards out, and you can't put in any extra cards =/ why can't POP do things right?
How is it that the POP deckboxes 'suck' when they are exactly the same size as the Japanese Lugia/Ho-Oh horizontal boxes everyone got at Worlds?

for future deckboxes, i do think they should be vertical (like the birds deckboxes in the gift sets). then, people wouldn't complain so much.

Here, let me get you some cheese and crackers to go with that WHINE...

You make it sound like POP always messes up or something. There is nothing wrong with these boxes, for they are the same boxes they've been handing out in Japan. You CAN fit a 60 card deck in there, but you have to put in like 10 cards at a time so that you don't bend or squish your cards in the process...

I didn't go to Worlds.
What have the deckboxes being released in Japan got to do with anything? My deckboxes have coins or dices, and soemtimes I put extra cards in them.

Hey, sorry about making POP sound bad, but they are very, very good.=) I was a bit fed up with the deck box.

I ended up getting 14 packs for $20.

I came into the tourney with a deep hatred of the deck box burning eternally within my heart. However, I actually kind of like the box now that I have gotten the opportunity to inspect my own. It is small enough to where I can fit it in my pocket along with a few dice. I still say that it is not worth both POP packs and 2 Boosters. I think it is worth both POP packs and one booster pack.

Edit: Found a random typo.

You must have gotten different deck boxes than mine. The pre-release deck boxes I got are smaller than the one I won at a local tournament that came from Worlds. I can easily fit my sleeved deck in that box and have a little room. I bend the cards putting them in the pre-release boxes I got. Maybe I am using different sleeves but still doesn't matter to me. I prefer a box that has extra room to care extra sleeves in case of mishap or/and a few cards.

Over the weekend I played in three Drafts, and bought 8 packs...

I pulled an Arcanine EX, 2x Walrein EX, and a Mew EX...

and I felt absolutely horrible about it since my g/f didn't pull any EXes out of 4 drafts :(

then share right? thats what its about. sorta.

After 24 packs of EX:LM, I am sad that I did not get a single ex or star in three prereleases. Rather wierd. It makes me wonder how many displays it will take to catch the entire set.

Well guys, if PUI figures out that we'd rather buy Japanese cards to get the EX's, maybe they'll change the rarity of them.

The rarity of the Ex's is just fine. It should not be changed. If so, as stated before, the card's value would dissapear, along with pokemon tcg. This is marketing. It rules the entire world.

and the die hard players, especially those in college, may just opt to import to guarantee themselves the cards they need to compete. no biggie, just a few lost dollars for PUI

1st pre
I judge and my kid plays and does side event and gets prizes.
aprox 30 packs = no ex star or react

2nd pre
I judge and two boys play and then play in side events and get some prizes.
aprox 30 packs = Mew ex, arcanine ex, 8 react Registeel * and banette ex

3rd pre
I judge and two boys play and then play in side events and get some prizes.
aprox 30 packs = banette ex and 2 react

thye shouldn't just change stuff because the college ppl want it to. its mainly for kids.

That's not true. College students dominate the 15+ age division in OP, which is always has the largest number of players at Nationals, Worlds, ect.

Japanese boxes contain more of the rare cards than English boxes, so we have opted to buy Japanese cards.
