LostGar Hype Discussion - IN HERE ONLY

Has anyone play tested a LostGar? I'm just wondering how long it takes LostGar to have the Stadium in hand, because that will mean the difference of a win or a loss.

Yeah. There's a couple of guys that I've been RedShark testing against that ONLY test their LostGar decks.

It's a very frustrating deck to play against at the moment. HOWEVER, we don't know what counters are offered up in the next set either.

Now, that stadium WILL fall because their running 4 and you could TRY to deafen forever but then... they just use GENGAR to smash you and win the Prize race anyway

I've been up 5 prizes to 1 and that stadium finds it's way down in the knick of time anyway.

I have only been able to beat it with disruption decks and extreme lock decks (that may not beat anything else..lol)

I think the deck will be even MORE dominant after the next rotation, when the SP engine will be crippled, or eliminated all together. From what I've seen in the Black and White set coming after COL, there doesn't seem to be much in the way of Lost World counters. And LostGar is the best name for this deck. If not, then LuxChomp and DialgaChomp have to go as well..........

^ This is exactly what I'm finding out if you tech your deck or build a deck to beat it you lose your other matchups and will probably not do well unless you completely play against nothing but gengar.

hey guys, I have a name suggestion. Lets call it Poor Man's Revenge because there are no $80 Luxrays or $100 Uxie Xs in the deck. Just $15 Gengars!

^except Gengar is already topping 30 and will likely in as high as 45 or more each...

Does anyone know if Lost World says 6 Pokemon or 6 Pokemon cards? Another way of putting it, do all 6 cards in the lost zone have to be pokemon?

To make Luxchomp I need one (preferably two, but I've run 2-1 and done well so) $60 Luxray and one $80 Uxie = $140
To make Lostgar I need 4 $40 Gengars = $160

40$ for a gengar is really a rip-off, even with lost world.
I wouldn't pay any more than 30$.

$80 for a Uxie is a rip-off...

$65 for a Luxray is a rip-off, too, but I sold mine for more than that...

No point in discussing this here though. Back on topic people.

this eck will be easy to beat you get out one pokemon and get kos with it while liminting your hand and bench cause once you have 1 or 2 prizes you can focas on pokemon in your hand and if you play dark pokemon that can ko a gengar every turn you win its not hard unless you play gyarados because they put 4 damage counters and deevolut

2010-2011

Seems to work in theory, but what about that attack, Cursed Drop? Goes through resistance... you faint eventually...

It only has problems with SP in my testing
DialgaChomp has Remove Lost and Counter Stadiums/Deafen.
Sablelock has disruption, easy donks and type advantage.
LuxChomp has the most 'cheap' KOs as possible and the ability to easily tech for either type advantage or Deafen (Although not as powerfull without counter Stadiums).

I havn't managed to make a evolution deck that beats it.

I still think LostGar will encounter a lot of problems, so I'm not saying its unbeatable or easilly overcome.

1. Luxray can bright look and one shot Palkia
2. Omastar's swirl power is useless against SP and Vilegar can prevent you from playing fossil cards
3. Gengar SF/MewPerrior have a good chance of one shotting Gengar
4. Gengar Primes secondry attack only does 40 damage max.
5. Judges/Lookers/Initative/Let Loose really hurt this deck.
6. Since Gengar is rarely attacking you're not preventing the opponents main attacker from getting heavilly beefed up
7. Regice can be used to get pokemon from the opponents hand into the discard pile.
8. Dark Pokemon combined with there pesky disrupion effects/powers.
9. Dialga G can shut off Gengar's body making hit and switch decks useless.

we should make a subforum for every meta deck, so we can make threads about a specific deck. All the luxchomp posts could go in the luxchomp subforum, etc.

Deck Idea: EXODIA!!! (jk) Actually, I'd call it the Ninja deck, as all that seems to happen is Pokemon getting Ninja'd out of one's hands.

I definitely thought of Absol Lv. X and fully intend to utilize it in lieu of LostGar. Not only as it's more fun and just as viable in my opinion, but it counters the more oft seen G. Prime.
